Wednesday Greyhounds Tips: Swift Illinois can live up to the moniker

16:26 Towcester - T3 (Montalto Runner) @ SP

We showed all kinds of pace after being slow to go on our debut. But the path was blocked as we headed into the first bend. Only five dogs again this afternoon and with that experience under our belt I see us breaking a bit better. But more importantly getting to the lead before the 1st bend. If we do that we win this race well and start to move up the grades.

T1 has been off a month and will need this comeback run. Trial not too good and has been downgraded since last run. I don't think that will be enough and this runner is best watched today.

T2 rates as one of our dangers on the back of the 16.28 time when winning in this grade two runs back. A repeat of that and we will have a race on our paws.Seemed to have every chance last week but her run evened out and she didn't pick up off the 2nd bend.

T4 is vacant.

T5 was a non runner in a four bend contest and subsequently off for a month. Trial was okay last week but will want to see which bitch returns today. Had this been over four bends this runner would be odds on. I just think we get first run this afternoon.

T6 recent downgrade from D2. Has a 30% strike rate in this class and seems to have a good draw on the outside, time wise and form wise however seems to be declining. Had this been five or six runs ago then this runner would be going off favourite in this race. But current form is questionable.

So to us in T3. Vacant trap on our outside, we can improve from last week and break better. Any level break and we will have too much pace for this grade. I can see us clearing the field by bend one and going clear on the run in to post a PB. Confident selection.

So to us in T4, we can track the early pace in T1 and come to challenge off the last bend, both 4 and 6 will be closing and it will be crucial we gain first run on those runners to have the best chance, looking over all form it looks as though we can do that and win this race well. Solid selection.
