Wednesday Greyhound Tips: Your midweek guide to the runners and railers

The week is already half-over but there is still plenty of action to get your teeth into at the track. Our resident greyhound whisperer, Trap2Line, is analysing Towcester and Yarmouth this time for his best bets.

16:07 Towcester - T6 (Chelms Jacob) @ SP

We are a strong finishing runner that has recently been dropped to this A5 grade. Not quite getting up the last two times. But has a perfect race make up this afternoon to challenge late on and prove too strong for this field.

T1 Vacant 

T2 is 1/1 so far since coming onto the card, winning a D2 in a good time even after trouble. This is a step up in trip that I am on the fence with. After watching this runner after the line to the trip on first start he wasn't crying out for extra yardage. May lead or be prominent early on but drop away later stages.

T3 is a very slow starting runner that will edge off on the run up so T2 does have a good draw. This is a grade too high for her and I see her going off a big price in this.

T4 can lead or be prominent in this race with T2 but they may ruin each others chances. That can set the race up for us to come late and fast.

T5 is not in the greatest of form and has been dropping through the grades recently. Will need to find a couple of lengths to get involved this afternoon and I can't see that happening.

So to us in T6, both T2 and T4 to put pace to the race and I would love us to turn third. but I see us turning fourth with loads of room on the outside to miss any trouble. We can round the leaders off the last to win going away on the run in. Confident choice.

19:06 Yarmouth - T6 (Lemon Charlie) @ SP

English debut tonight after two clearing trials over course and distance. Previous form at Limerick and Kilkenny reads well in the context of tonight's race. We have a good make up out wide to record our first victory on British soil.

T1 has been off since start of July where they were running in an A4. Trialled back and ran really quick. Upgraded because of that. Hasn't troubled the judge in four races so far. However there was lots of money the last two times so better was expected. Off with a slight niggle and may need this tonight.

T2 rates as our main danger having won really well in an A5. Two grade uplift since that demolition job and can keep improving and coming forward. I just slightly edge towards us but this runner will be dangerous with a clear run.

T3 dropped through the grades prior to last week's win in an A4. Back up to this grade tonight but has been found wanting in the past. I see the same again tonight.

T4 boasts a really good record in the grade of 2-3 and some quick times in higher grade A2 the last couple of runs. Stays on strongly so any crowding will play into this one's paws tonight. As it is though I can't see this one getting a clean run on the run up and at the first bend. Nothing will be finishing stronger than this runner so it's imperative we gain first run as we 100% can't back run this one.

T5 was in good form in early July and was flying through the grades. That's levelled off now and this runner had started to drop back down. Prior to last weeks win in an A5, grader not impressed. Upped two grades because of that and this is a level too far currently. I see this runner struggling.

So to us in T6, we have shown some nice pace and track-craft in our two practice sessions. I see us breaking well and leading throughout. My eyes will be drawn to T2 and T4 to see where they tune but I think they may ruin each other's chances. We can skip away from trouble to run a PB and gain our first win. Solid selection that will be backed heavily.
