Thursday Greyhounds Tips: Trap2Line has two on the go

Our resident Greyhounds expert Trap2Line is back on Thursday to deliver his best bets from the day's action.

19:27 Newcastle - T3 (Iceman's Girl) @ SP

Angel of the North trial stakes this evening ready for the upcoming completion. We trialled very well last week in a fast 28.32, prior to that we blitzed a very good field at Towcester so we are in excellent form coming into this race.

How I see the race being run this evening:

T1 - Good local, 2/2 recently in A1 contests showing very good middle pace to pick leaders up and to win both races going away. Had a couple of weeks of layoff to prepare for tonight, to me would prefer a middle draw and I can't see this one getting a clear run with crowding on the run up.

T2 - Bang railer will move into T1 path as soon as traps open and they can ruin each other's chances, has better early than T1 so crowding is inevitable. 

T4 - Has been staying on strongly at Sunderland and before that Nottingham, does have form here too, will need to improve a few lengths to figure in this race though.

T5 - Solid local, knocked out of the three steps to victory last week at Sheffield, again against these will struggle to land a blow. 

T6 - Really good yardstick and back form would carry these runners but that was a couple of years ago, in veteran stage on career now and still running well but tonight is a hard race and I can see this one staying on into second.

So back to us in T3, ideal launchpad to lead the inside early, kick on from that point and win this very well and will then probably be vying for favourite for the competition outright after impressing tonight. Max bet for me. 

20:59 Hove - T4 (Queen Shakira) @ SP 

Really fast bitch that boasts a 60% strike rate at the course and also a 100% strike rate from T4 so some impressive stats to work with this evening, I make this race a match with us and T1 and with the benefit of race fitness I think we just about have the edge on the inside runner.

How I see this Sussex Cup trial stakes being run

T1 - Been off for over a month so that may tell in the closing stages today, has had three trials back two over two bends and one over 500m, all from a middle draw and I feel this runner breaks better from a middle draw than a rails draw and I think will edge into both T2 and T3 on the run up.

T2 - Has been in good form and a quick 500m win last week, very consistent and loves the rails so will be edging across left all the way up the run up so could come together with T1.

T3 - Bang railer will be turning left as soon as the lids go up, this will hamper the inside runners and give us lots of space to pace up the inside at the bend.

T5 - Trip that may suit and could run well at a big price tonight, good draw, and stats on really strongly so any type of clear run and this runner could be dangerous late in this, I do feel we will be clear by then but this runner could stay on into second place. 

T6 - Average grader will struggle in this as drawn and to me will be the outsider of the whole field, not for me

So back to us in T4, good draw, great early pace, excellent course stats and a really good race make up tonight, so much going for us that I make this runner my bet of the day.
