Thursday has always struggled for an identity. It is a day that is neither blue nor does it hump. It lacks a feeling, tacos or an alliterated pizza offer. But it's Thursday and that's enough. So allow Trap2Line to illuminate this Thursday with his top picks from the greyhound racing at Hove.

T1 (Burrows Ace) 19:49 Hove @ SP

In both races so far we have been very badly crowded. Today's make up looks like it will suit us and we can turn handier than normal. We can miss the crowding with a very slow-starting middle runner next to us before proving too strong in the second half of this contest.

T2's split times are very slow, so that is key to our chances of leading this runner. What I observed on his Oxford runs was the fact that he liked to move to the middle on the run up. Doing that tonight will only aid our chances.

T3 is quickly into stride and stays middle. Unsure if she will be quick enough to get involved tonight, but may lead or be prominent for a bend or two. Can see this runner weakening in the second half of the race.

T4 had a very average trial in July and came back last week with a decent sprint trial. What I noticed in his four bend trial was how wide he ran the second and fourth bends. Can't afford to do that this evening and will be best watched until having a few runs under his belt.

T5 may crowd with T4 as drawn tonight, as they will be edging in on the run up. Could spoil both his own and T4's chances by doing that. Gone off a double-figure price in both open races and I can see that happening again tonight.

T6 won well in an A3 last week, the time was nothing special but the win was impressive nevertheless. Big step up in grade tonight and personally I think this dog will struggle to get involved. Not for me.

So to us on the inside, good draw in T1, we will get loads of space run up and round the first and second bends and there is no excuse tonight. Will need to avoid trouble to win but we have literally everything in our favour. Very confident choice.

T5 (Bubbly Everest) 19:16 Hove @ SP

English debut tonight for this runner who was victorious on his only start at Cork by an impressive 12 lengths. Has since transferred to Romford when we have had four trials getting quicker each time. Ran down close home by a stayer early September but winning against a good yardstick the week after. This course and distance looks like it will suit us.

T1 is another Romford runner and has similar times to us. Does have a good draw on the rails this evening. If we don't come away or get held up, this runner can take advantage.

T2 is a Swindon runner having his second race here. Last week was crowded everywhere including, on the run up when he made a dart to the rails. Will do well to avoid T1 as drawn today.

T3 moves mid to rails on the run up. She has been on her travels lately running here as well as at Romford and Monmore. Did well last week after a bad bump at first bend. Only issue I have with this runner tonight is I don't think she has the early pace to clear the inside runners and that will lead to crowding at first bend. That could curtail her chances somewhat. If getting around clean could be a massive danger to us.

T4 is a true middle runner and will stay straight on the run, which is key. Overall times not quick enough for this evening's race and would be more competitive back in an A2. Not for me.

T6 is a very slow to go wide runner and we should easily lead him initially. If this race gets held up or becomes crowded then this runner could come into it late. There would need to be carnage for that to happen.

So to us in T5, a very big money purchase. I would be disappointed if we weren't able to land this contest before going on to better things. Really quick time on debut at Cork and decent trials since. I think we will be away and gone, clear these at the bend and go on to win well.
