12:26 Yarmouth - Harlequin Rose (T4) @ SP
We have recently been downgraded to this grade and have been going off a warm order in the betting, no luck in running the last twice but I feel has a really good opportunity to get back on the winning track tonight.
How I see this A6 race being run:
T1 is in good form and won two races recently, an S3 and an A7; running style suggests is a stayer and will be strong from halfway. I would want this runner to turn a close second to us, as could be a massive danger if so.
T2 has the early legs of T1, but since coming back onto the card, has shown nothing. Previously A2 prior to lay-off, so back form is there for all to see, but currently nowhere near that level (hence dropping down to A6).
T3 had dropped all the way down to A8 before demolishing rivals last week, and grader has raised him two grades for that. General split times will mean we lead this runner, and that will be key to our success.
T5 last in two out of last three races, again another grade dropper, but form isn’t great, and I can’t see this one troubling us this afternoon in a clean run race. But I also have to say that back form in June/July isn’t bad, just at the moment, not running at the peak of his powers, and is zero from 11 in the trap.
T6 vacant.
So back to us in T4, not much early pace in this race today, meaning we can quickly stamp our authority on this contest. There are numerous dogs out of form and a couple of grade droppers too, but I can see us leading on the run up and pulling right away for a nice victory. Confident choice.

17:21 Towcester - Antigua Kestrel (T1) @ SP
Drops back down in trip this afternoon after running really well in the summer stayers’ event at Monmore recently, came back here last week and was beaten but ran well against a fast bitch, this race this afternoon is a lot easier, and I can see compensation for us.
How I see this Towcester Standard Division Two race being run:
T2 slow to go ex-Irish runner, won at Nottingham second time up, but just an average trial here last week, and we can crucially gain first run on the inner this afternoon.
T3 really wants the rails pitch and will be edging in as drawn, which could crowd with T2 on the run, spoiling each other’s chances, not that quick into stride, so crowding looks inevitable.
T4 very slow to go runner, will need to track clever from this draw, does have form here, and if the race crowds or bunches up, then this runner may come into the contest late on.
T5 graded runner has good early and may lead on the run up to bend one, once we get into full stride, we can quickly outpace this runner and kick on.
T6 is highly regarded but often fluffs the start, times here in one trial and two races won't be quick enough to challenge us today, and I can't see this runner getting involved.
So back to us on the fence, it’s a travesty we are only in a division two here rather than division one, which we deserve, easiest race for a while, and we can turn handy before scooting clear down the back before going on to win well. Bet of day for me.
