Saturday Greyhound Tips: Two picks for tonight’s action

21:01 Oxford - Gotacrushonyou (T5) @ SP

We were a major eyecatcher last week travelling all over the field heading into third bend when badly crowded. Had we not been, we would've ran a PB first run back after lay off. We are better drawn this evening, so all things point to a good run.

T1 win first run up in the UK but in a lowly A5 grade, upped to open company last week and showed no pace finishing fifth well behind us, but will be the outsider for tonight's race.

T2 is a regular A2 performer, good early pace but overall times won't be quick enough to win tonight.

T3 rates a danger to us being a top grade A1 performer but has a bad draw being a railer and may edge across as soon as the traps open. Time-wise has nothing to find but issue is has similar split times to T2 and I can see them coming together at some point on the run up or first bend.

Imperative that we lead T4 in the early stages, split times on average say that we will do that. This runner will likely go off at a big price. T6 will be vacant.

So to us in T5, good draw with no dog on our outside and a slow to go runner on our inner and three railers, so this is my pick of the day.

21:11 Nottingham - Rowington Reign (T4) @ SP

We came back onto the card last week with a very competitive run and time was good for this grade, improvement to come from that run and to me we are a few lengths quicker than tonight's field in a clean run race.

T1 has been on and off the card since April, trial times compared to ours are slow and only race in August was tailed off last, so will likely be a big price tonight.

T2 is very consistent on times in this grade and does have some early pace so will be prominent initially in tonight's contest. The crowding at the bends the last two races hasn't helped and I rate this runner our main danger tonight.

T3 is another early-paced type and to me the leader of tonight's contest. This will help us if this runner traps well and leads as it gives us a runner to aim at and more room on the run up and fist bend, this runner hasn't really been getting home and weakens in the second half of the race and I can see that happening again tonight.

T5 enjoyed a massive improvement last week but was still unable to record second victory. I can't see this runner breaking in the same way tonight and will struggle to get involved.

T6 recently downgraded to this grade and made a winning return at a big price, likely will be a big price again tonight and I don't think will add to her winning tally in the grade.

So to us in T4, we can track the leader in T3 and if our pick can get round the bend in second or third, we have exceptional middle pace to close.
