Saturday Greyhound Tips: Trap2Line picks his two best bets of the day

Our resident greyhounds expert, Trap2Line, kicks off the weekend with two selections for you to consider across the day's action up and down the country.

20:29 Yarmouth - T4 (Grouchos Alice) @ SP

This bitch has been getting quicker every time she goes to the traps, a puppy who has yet to win but has been showing good pace in her races and was moved up a grade without winning. Does have lots going for her in this A8 tonight against mainly exposed rivals.

How I see the race being run...

T1 really poor form recently, finishing last twice in the last 3 runs, slow starts not helping matters but with her being out of form I would be a watcher this evening instead of a backer.

T2 won an A9 two starts back, times are 4-5 lengths slower than us and will need to run faster to get involved tonight, always struggling when raised to this grade, not for me.

T3 looks the likely leader of the inside as drawn, did win an A9 but a very slow recorded time. Looking at race make-up with this runner leading we can track her early pace and turn on her shoulder.

T5 1/1 after winning on debut last week and this puppy can only improve and get quicker, rates our main danger tonight but I think being drawn inside this runner will help us out, if we don't come away or get held up at any point then this danger will win.

T6 back form means she is the quickest in tonight's race, but has been off since May, returned with a lacklustre performance last week, tonight will be stronger but slow starts won't help and we can get first run.

So to us in T4, we are very consistent on times and form, value for better last 2 runs after trouble cost us victory, broke 29 seconds even with trouble and in the context of this race that will be quick enough to land this. With a clearer run we can also post a new PB. Very solid selection and bet of the day for me.

21:01 Oxford - T6 (Rebel Pine) @ SP

Recent Irish acquisition has had two competitive races here showing up for a long way second run and running green on debut. Tonight again runs in maiden company and we look to have a guilt edged opportunity to record our first win on these shores from a plum draw outside

How I see the race being run…

T1 bad draw for a middle seed, will be turning right as the traps open and crowd with both T2 and T3 as this hove raider normally runs out of T4, this crowding will ruin the chances of the inside runners.

T2 Monmore raider, similar comments to T1, will move off as drawn, A3 grade at home track and won't land a blow tonight.

T3, another Monmore runner, has been here last twice but no show and will have both T1 and T2 fighting for the same running lane so I expect lots of trouble between these three runners on the run up.

T4 local graded runner, first run back after a spell on the sidelines, went off favourite but no real show and looked like he needed the run, should strip fitter tonight but I think we get first run on the outer.

T5 our main danger as has very solid and consistent form being top grade here and dabbling in the odd open race, one sub 27 second run and will need a time like that this evening to win this. I do make this a match race between us and this runner.

So finally to us, a great draw on the outer, learning each run, should be handy if not lead out wide tonight. As long as we get round the first bend without trouble we can use our middle pace to go clear and win this race by a few lengths impressively. Confident choice.
