Monday Greyhound Tips: Smyth picks three delightful Donny dogs

1 pt 15:03 Doncaster – Greenhill Mac (T4) @ SP

Three from Doncaster this afternoon on a competitive all-graded card. At 15:03, look out for GREENHILL MAC who lines up from T4 in the D3 graded race over the two-bend 275-metre trip. The September 2023 son of Malachi is one from two in the grade and hinted a win in around the corner with a narrow defeat last time out in D2 company.

Today, if Mac brings his trapping boots, he can lead round and make all. Solo wide seed Anchor Banken rates as the main danger from T6. A vacant box in T5 strengthens claims and the wide seed is likely to prove popular in the market. Gypsies Kiss (T1) is capable of a flashy start, and in another who enters calculations.

1 pt 16:37 Doncaster – On The Wall (T5) @ SP

The A1 graded race at 16:37 looks ultra-competitive with plenty in with live chances. The one who caught my eye is class dropper ON THE WALL from T5. The James Gaskin-trained January 2024 son of Airmount Nando bolted up in A2 company in mid-June, clocking 29.36 and then won an open race next time up in 29.48. Two runs in open class haven’t led to any more wins in recent weeks and On The Wall now drops back into graded company, and it's an ease in class he will appreciate.

The key to this race is the break. If On The Wall gets it right at the boxes and leads off the second bend, this could be all over bar the shouting. Foxwood Carter (T6) will be staying on well and could be worth including in forecast bets. Ballymac Ivanna (T2) is another who is likely to be there or thereabouts and rates as a danger.

1 pt 17:14 Doncaster – Keefill Apollo (T2) @ SP

The third and final selection from Doncaster is KEEFILL APOLLO, who runs from T2 in the B2 graded race at 17:14 over the four-bend 450-metre trip at the Yorkshire venue. Apollo is a consistent performer around Doncaster with two wins and a placed effort in his last four runs.

Today, this is all about getting a clear run and avoiding a bump early on. If Apollo turns with the pace, he can hit the front by the third bend and power clear. Grouchos Queen (T6) is lightly raced and rates as a huge danger. The October 2024 youngster is open to improvement and looks a nice type for the Overton kennel.
