Wednesday Greyhound Tips: Sunnyside Ellie to warm up the winter

It's Hump Day and you know what that means. Yes, we're off to the track with our resident greyhounds tipster, Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle on X). Today's choices come from Sunderland, Valley and Romford.

Today's Greyhound odds

1 pt 15:32 Sunderland – Headford Srange (T6) @ SP

Three selections today on a busy day's action across SIS Racing and Premier Greyhound Racing. This afternoon, one that should go well is the Chantelle McNicholas-trained wide seed HEADFORD SRANGE, who lines up from T6 in the A5 graded race at 15:32. The lightly raced August 2024 son of Grangeview Ten is green as grass and is learning on the job. He’s caught the eye on his last two runs, showing plenty of pace and once it all clicks, he looks the type who could go through the grades and make into a nice top-grade or even open-race performer.

Today, it's all eyes on the break. If Headford Srange brings his trapping boots, he can lead round and kick for home off the second bend. On the bunny he can improve on the clock and dip below the 28-second barrier. That should see him take this race. How Ye Debs (T2) stays on well and could be worth including in forecast bets.

1 pt 16:56 Valley – Tobergal Suzanne (T4) @ SP

Over at the Valley in south Wales, Tony Morgan holds a strong hand in the D5 sprint race at 16:56 with four of the runners coming from his Gwent-based kennel. On bare form, TOBERGAL SUZANNE appeals from T4. She was off the track in September and October but returned to action recently and with five runs under her belt she will be at full race fitness now.

Prior to the layoff, Suzanne was competitive in D3 and D4. This is a drop in grade and one she can take advantage of. Kennelmate Mylerstown Sage rates as the danger from T2, she's two from two in the grade and would be a runner with a clear run this afternoon. Keep an eye on the market, significant support for a rival should be noted. Locals know the time of day and the money is sharp.

1 pt 21:46 Romford – Sunnyside Ellie (T1) @ SP

The third and final selection today runs at the London Road circuit, Romford, in the A11 graded race at 21:46 over the four-bend 400-metre trip at the Essex venue. SUNNYSIDE ELLIE (T1) is two from three in the grade and looks well-drawn to win again and add to that impressive strike rate. The key is the break and run into the corner. T2 is vacant and, in a race lacking early pace on her immediate outside, Ellie has a chance to hold the rails and hit the back straight on the bunny.

Beginagins Ava (T5) and Young Youngy (T6) rate as dangers. Both are more than capable of taking a race like this on a going day. On Romford debut Blackrose Serena (T3) is worth noting in the market. The former Towcester-based runner could be the one to chase home the selection and will be worth including in forecast bets if sent off at fancy prices.
