Thursday Greyhound Tips: Top picks from Dunstall Park, Monmore and Hove

Today's Greyhound Odds

1 pt 14:29 Dunstall Park – Mercia Thor (T4) @ SP

Three selections today on a busy day's action on Premier Greyhound Racing. This afternoon, keep an eye on lightly raced May 2024 youngster MERCIA THOR, who lines up from T4 in the A7 graded race from Dunstall Park over the standard four-bend 480-metre trip. The Kate Harrison-trained runner caught the eye last time out, showing nice pace throughout and staying on well.

Today, this is all about getting a clear run early on and turning second behind likely race leader Malaika Queen in T3. If Thor breaks in best fashion and turns within striking distance, he can make his move down the back straight and power clear from the third bend. Kiloween Beauty is worth noting in the market from T1. She was A3 and A4 grade at Perry Barr and returns to action this afternoon following a layoff from early October.

1 pt 19:22 Monmore – Brynoffa Posh (T5) @ SP

Over at the Midland venue Monmore, one that jumped off the card was BRYNOFFA POSH from T5 in the A10 graded race. In a race lacking early pace, wide seed Posh looks well-drawn to lead round and make all. In recent weeks she’s run well in A9 grade, including finishing second on a couple of occasions. This evening, from a plot draw, Posh can pop out, lead round and make all. Love Byte (T3) rates as the main danger.

He beat the selection back on November 6, when making all in 29.50. It's imperative that Brynoffa Posh traps well and clears Love Byte into the first bend. Durham Inferno (T2) is a consistent performer in this grade and is always there or thereabouts off the final bend. He’s worth including in forecast bets.

1 pt 20:24 Hove – Tuono Dave (T5) @ SP

The third and final selection today runs at the Nevill Road circuit Hove in bottom grade A11 company. TUONO DAVE (T5) caught the eye on debut last week when the June 2024 son of Good News completely missed the break but then showed nice pace into the corner and down the back straight. He was green as grass and would have learnt plenty from that run. Tonight, with slow starter Isthatok on his immediate inside in T4, Dave can trap level, pace up and lead off the second bend and then kick for home.

Tullymurry Nina (T3) can show early pace in her races, but if level early on, I fancy potential improver Tuono Dave to get the better of that rival down the back straight and be a couple clear at the third bend. Lightly raced Punk Rock Lily (T2) returns to action this evening following a layoff from early September. Keep an eye on the market. If fully tuned up, she would be a huge runner in this race.
