16:04 Sheffield - Toddys Tank (T5) @ SP
We recently competed in the Steel City Cup and were unfortunately eliminated at the semi-final stage when being crowded in the early stages. Nothing of that calibre in today's race, and we can boss this from the off and record an impressive victory.
How I see this 500m open race being run:
T1 good pitch on the inner and two runs ago ran a decent time of 29.00 when running second to ourselves, so with the decent draw I could see this runner again repeating that feat and staying on into second place.
T2 Sheffield debut today for this runner from Ireland, having recently competed in the Oaks at Dunstall Park, being eliminated in the opening round, brings a solid Irish card from Shelbourne. Trials here have been ok, nothing that jumps off the page to suggest will beat us, but she is one to watch over the coming weeks.
T3 tight railer that will spoil the inside runners' chance by coming over on the run up, and space will be at a premium if he does that. Overall profile suggests this runner will struggle.
T4 is a very consistent local, and we will have to be on our toes early on here as he is no back number, and if we don't come away and this runner is able to dominate, then we could be struggling. I do see us leading up and then this runner's chances to win will be slim.
T6 good draw on the outer again ran in Steel City Cup, we have three to four lengths in hand on this runner in a clean run contest, but again if this race becomes crowded on the inner and we miss the break, this runner won't need a second invitation to win.
So to us in T5, good draw to pace up and clear the field at the bend, we bring electric sprinters early pace to this race, and if we come away level we should blow these away in the early stages, if we ping it could be game over on the run. I'm very confident of a massive run from us this afternoon.

16:16 Hove - Killmore Dancer (T1) @ SP
We arrive here in good form, runner-up in the Birmingham Cup and unluckily eliminated in the second round of the recent competition at Romford from a poor draw, better drawn today and can use that to control this afternoon's race.
How I see this one-off 500m open race being run:
T2 does have a good record at numerous tracks in the country and likes it here, and to me, is our main danger today. I don't think we can lead this runner-up, but what we can do is turn in a pitch with this runner edging more middle on the run up and we can hit the rails tightly. If we don't come away or get held up, then this runner's chances increase greatly
T3 again eliminated from the big competition at Romford, poor draw today away from the rails and could come together with T2 on the run, this will help us and then in turn hamper both the other runners' chances.
T4’s record of four out of four here has to be respected, but a terrible draw for this railer and I can't see this runner making it across and I see lots of crowding on the run up, which can hamper his chances.
T5 good draw but overall form average at best and looking at today's runners and level he is currently running at, I do feel that he will be an outsider for this race and I don't see him getting involved.
T6 is in really good form and running some really solid times recently, drawn wider out than ideal and will need to come away, but if there is crowding on the inner and this runner was able to pace up and clear on the outside, could run a massive race.
So to us in T1, even with there being four railers in today's contest, we have the best pitch in T1. We can either track the early pace or, with the inevitable crowding, I could see us going round in front; if we do lead or turn second, I would be disappointed if we didn't land this prize. Very confident choice.
