Saturday Greyhound Tips: Two big chances at Monmore on Saturday

We're off to Monmore Green with our greyhound expert Trap2Line on Saturday. He's got two lined up for our attention - here's the science bit ...

T4 (Noduff Alpha) 18:48 Monmore @ SP

We won really well on debut and recorded a very fast 15.29 that would've won lots of top grade open races here. Tonight we look to go 2/2 and to me have a great make-up and chance to do that. We even could top last week's time.

How I see this 264m Open race being run;

T1 - local graded sprinter comes here on the back of a win in D3 and then D2 so is in great form. Does have 3 to 4 lengths to find on us on times alone and I don't feel this runner has that amount of improvement in him.

T2 - both this runner and T1 will be fighting for the same ground tonight, has poor four-bend form, but has found two bends more to his liking running consistently in D2 grade.

I feel it will be a big price tonight and will struggle to get a clear run on the run-up, and at the bend

T3 is an interesting runner; been performing mostly over four bends on his travels, has trialled in here back in early September, and for a first look the time was decent. Since then however has won a four bend A4 at Dunstall Park and I don't feel that form is strong or quick enough to win tonight.

T5 is in all-conquering form at its home track of Swindon over both two and four bends, winning eight of its last ten races and deserves this step up in grade. Some good times over the two-bend trip at Swindon and could be a danger to us if taking to the track tonight.

T6 stepped back down to two bends last week and was well supported but missed the break and that is one thing you can't do in sprint racing. Will have his paws full tonight to try and clear T5 as that runner charts a wide course throughout and so will struggle to get a clear run.

So to us in T4 - good draw to pace up and we should have enough early pace to clear both T3 and T5 on the run to the bend. We trapped well last week but also came home strongly, and I can't see any of tonight's field laying up with us early. If we're clear at the bend there will only be one winner.

Very confident choice.

T4 (Newinn Cloud) 21:23 Monmore @ SP

We arrive here tonight in exceptional form winning 4 of our last 5 races. We hold a good record over course and distance (two from three) in both open company and from this trap, so the stats along with current form are a big plus for us tonight.

How I see this 630m Open race being run;

T1 steps back up in trip for the first time in a long time. Since returning in September has solely been campaigned over 480m. does have some back form over six bends, and also has a really good pitch on the rails tonight.

Might run well at a price as could go under the radar of many.

T2 is maybe fighting with T1 for early position on the inside tonight. Pinged the lids last week and dominated from the front to land an impressive victory, but this race is harder and deeper so it may not get an easy lead like last week and may well need that to win tonight.

T3 is a danger to all if fully concentrating, has exceptional chasing pace but does have her own mind about the game once getting near the lead. Will need a bunched race to be seen at her best but I do see this runner staying on off the last into second place.

T5 has a recent good win over 650m at Oxford, also was/is a regular here over four bends and six bends, and if we don't perform or get hampered then this is another runner that will be looking to take advantage.

T6 vacant

So to us in T4 - great draw out wide, slow starter in T3, so we can turn handier than usual and use our middle pace to close and go on down the back for the second time and win this race going away with T3 staying on best of the rest for second place.
