Greyhound Tips - Saturday, November 22
*odds will be posted closer to race time
15:07 Swindon - Nancy O (T3) @ SP
This will be our fourth start here over course and distance, so far in this grade we have run second on three occasions, and we very unlucky last week after being badly hampered out the traps, recovering to come through the field into the lead only to weaken on the run in.
How I see this 476m A7 being run:
T1 has been more consistent since dropping to this A7 grade and to me, our danger this afternoon from a good draw on the rails, slow to go but will be staying on late on and again if we weaken off the last this runner may come through.
T2 has been off the card injured and prior to lay-off was running in A5 grade against better dogs than he will face today. Time-wise has a major shout if running anywhere near September form - might be chucked in but since returning to the track has been very slow to stride and not been involved in 2 A7s
T4 won last week in this grade but grader has been lenient and kept this runner in an A7, made all last week but shouldn't lead us today and that can be the difference us gaining first run; this runner is overall consistent in the grade, however.
T5 started September in A5 grade and had dropped all the way to A8 grade before winning two weeks ago. Upped to A7 on the back of that win, and was well fancied last week but ran poorly. Time-wise has a chunk to find with the majority of this afternoon's runners.
T6 is a similar profile to T5 here and I could see these outside runners coming both together on the run up spoiling each other's chances.
So to us in T3, another great opportunity to lead by bend number one and if doing so should have enough middle pace to go multiple-lengths clear, as both T1 and T2 are slowly away.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
20:34 Doncaster - Aghaburren Ben (T2) @ SP
We were heavily backed for a similar contest over course and distance last week, only to be hampered out the second bend and being forced to check off the back of runners ruining his chances. He's better drawn this evening and you will see a different dog with a course run under his belt.
How I see this 483m maidan open panning out:
T1 has a good draw on the fence - this runner has only just stepped up in trip from sprint distances and last week won over 450m getting up on the run in to win well. Looking as though this extra 33m will suit.
T3 was fifth last week on course and distance debut after a troubled run. Better than that time though, and can get closer to trial time this week, but still a little way off our selection.
T4 has been off for a few weeks but had a sprint trial last week to blow away the cobwebs. Form-wise he normally races in graded 450m races. This is a huge step up in class, one that I don't think this runner can take.
T5 is a vacant box.
T6 is a very consistent runner and always well supported whether that be over short four-bend, long four-bend or a six-bend race. A good draw on the outside tonight and if both T1 and T2 hold each other up, then may come round them at second bend. If it's a clean run race, I don't think this runner will be quick enough.
So to us in T2, good draw next to our main rival, and we are the quickest in line up with a clear run. In my opinion, if we get that tonight, we will be too strong for this field. I can see us pacing up and clearing these at bend number one and just pulling further clear from that point.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
