19:44 Nottingham - Born Racer (T1) @ SP
This is heat one of the sprint trophy and we were very unlucky in defeat last week, being badly crowded bend one and again off bend two. Better drawn tonight and we can gain revenge on T5 as we made up lots of ground after trouble. With a clear passage we would've easily beaten that runner last week.
T2 has been in decent form recently at Suffolk Downs since that track has reopened. Hasn't been here for a while which is a slight concern as runners especially over this two bend trip seem to run off at the bend. That will help us tonight being drawn inside him, as last time here took a tumble and may be be reluctant to go round clean with dogs around him.
T3 has form here over further and recently has been running at Dunstall Park. May have needed last week's spin as that was her first run since August. Likely to come on from that and may be a likely outsider for tonight's contest.
T4 has some good Doncaster form and a very quick time at Central Park recently too over sprint trips. Hasn't raced here since December last year so again may need this race to familiarise himself with the track again. Another I think can go well but it will all depend on the break and run at bend one.
T5 last year would've been long odds on for this race. Consistent form in recent weeks here but was lucky to finish ahead of us last week when gaining the better early run. Tables can be turned tonight due to our draw but if we don't come away and this runner pings it could all be a different story.
T6 is another local that has her draw on the outside being the sole wide seed in tonight's contest. Will need things to drop her way though as there is lots of pace up her inside along with the fact a few of the runners may run off at bend number one. It will be close your eyes stuff if you back this runner.
So to us in T1, good draw in the fence. We have an exceptional Irish card, visually unlucky last week and we can gain compensation this evening from a perfect pitch. We can pace up and rail this field off at the bend before kicking on for a couple of lengths victory. Very confident of a big run.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
20:01 Nottingham - Roanna Mamba (T2) @ SP
We have been in all-conquering form recently at Doncaster, winning the last five races all from the front showing good early pace in each race. Tonight we come here without a recent look. In fact this will be the first race here since December last year. Our overall form and the fact we should lead up can help us negotiate the first bend and go on to an impressive victory in the heat of this sprint trophy.
T1 has been mixing two and four bend races at Sheffield and Doncaster. I don't think has the early pace that we have and that can be key to us leading this runner early. If we swing off at the bend however this runner may take advantage from a good rails pitch.
T3 runs more mid to wide. Decent win last time out over this trip in a graded contest. A repeat of that will be needed this evening. Does have improved form over recent weeks and might run well at a price tonight.
T4 vacant trap
T5 races mainly over four bends at Dunstall Park recently but does have back form here over four bends. I do feel this runner's form isn't up to open race class and will be one of the outsiders tonight. May need a crowded race to get involved.
T6 rates the main danger to us tonight from this draw given the level of form he has shown both here and at Dunstall Park. Decent draw and we will have to be on our game to hold this runner off.
So to us in T2, on paper we have an ace draw to work from. If we can pace up and go round in front I think it's our race to lose. My eyes will be drawn as to where T6 turns but I believe we get first run on this runner and go on to record a couple of length victory. Solid choice.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
