Friday Greyhound Tips: Man In Black to walk the line at Newcastle?

It's back to the track this Friday morning with our new greyhounds tipster Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle on X). Our canine professor is closing out the working week with a trio of tips across some of the country's biggest races.

The A1 graded race from Central Park at 13:42 can go to the lightly raced Julie Luckhurst-trained railer WITTON MAC in T3. The October 2023 son of Ballymac Cashout caught my eye last time out on what was his ninth run at the Kent venue Central Park, when showing nice back straight pace.

Today, with a vacant box in his inside and Jenner Eight on his outside in T4 he has a chance to lead round and make all. The key is the break. Mac is a big, strong 36 KG dog. If he traps level with Jenner Eight, we can rail inside that rival and kick for home off the second bend. Simmer Down looks well-drawn in T1 and can chase home the selection and grab the forecast spot late on.

1 pt 16:47 Newcastle - Man In Black (T5) @ SP

Over at Newcastle, one that should go well is April 2024 pup MAN IN BLACK who lines up from T5 in the A7 graded race at 16:47 over the standard four-bend 480 trip at the North East venue Newcastle. The Savva Roberts-trained youngster bolted up in A8 company in mid-November, clocking 29.45 following a 4.73 sectional, a repeat of that would see him take this race.

Further improvement is also possible from the youngster, and he looks the type to go through the grades in the coming weeks. This afternoon it's all about getting a clear run around the first couple of bends and turning within striking distance behind likely leader Alnwick Queen in T3. If Man In Black turns second and within a length or two, it's race on down the back straight.

1 pt 21:46 Romford - Old Fort Adios (T2) @ SP

This evening, we head to the London Road circuit with five open races on show on an ultra-competitive mixed card. At 19:27 Pavillion Team (T4) and Bombay Bucks (T5) clash in the Friday Night 500 Standard open in what should be a thriller. Another that should go well is Vermithor. The Mark Wallis-trained railer lines up from T1 over the 400-metre trip at 19:44. A little later on 2025 Coronation Cup winner Fabulous Sonique runs from T1 in the Future Of Racing: PGR TV Stayers open race over the six-bend 575-metre trip. A level break should see the July 2021 daughter of Magical Bale make all. 

The selection this evening from Romford is OLD FORT ADIOS who runs from T2 in the S6 graded race at 21:46. The Tommy Batchelor-trained railer caught my eye last time out when finishing third behind Butdarewasashark. Old Fort Adios attempted to lead round but was bumped at the first bend and then showed nice pace throughout and stayed on in taking fashion. Tonight, if he brings his trapping boots, Old Fort Adios can lead round and once on the bunny it’ll take a good one to back run him.
