Tuesday Greyhound Tips: Send in the clowns

Our greyhound guru is suffering with a bout of seconditis just now and it's surely only a matter of time before the door to the winners' enclosure opens once more.
He's on the premises. Knocking on the door. In the ballpark. With thanks to cliches-r-us for the last few gems, here are Michael's studied thoughts concerning today's high-octane canine capers. Enjoy ...
Greyhound Tips - Tuesday, December 30
2 pt 13:03 Suffolk Downs – Savana Clowns (T3) @ SP
All set for Tuesday's action, and it's another busy day with twelve meetings taking place across the Premier Greyhound Racing and SIS racing tracks.
The first selection comes from Suffolk Downs at 13:03 with SAVANA CLOWNS looking a strong bet in the Super Stayers Open race over the eight-bend 716-metre trip.
The last time the October 2022 daughter of Droopys Sydney ran over this distance she caught the eye chasing home class act Crafty Prospero. Today, there's nothing of that calibre in opposition and granted a clear run on the first circuit, the Jason Ray-trained railer can cut through the pack and hit the front late on.
Joy Wild (T1) recently beat the selection, but that was over the six-bend 548 metre trip. Today, over this extended distance, she will be vulnerable late on.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
2 pt 16:22 Monmore – Glenside Flo (T1) @ SP
Over at the Wolverhampton venue Monmore, one that jumped off the card was the well-drawn railer GLENSIDE FLO who lines up from T1 in the A9 graded race at 16:22 over the standard four-bend 480-metre trip.
Heaven Reversed looks the likely race leader from T2, but he struggles to see out this trip. A vacant box in T3 strengthens Glenside Flo’s chances and, with a clear run, she can mount her challenge at third curve and hit the front off the final bend.
Straight Fire (T4), Outdoor Bono (T5) and Brucey Bonus (T6) all keep middle-to-wide and could hamper each other, so I make this a shoot-out between the railers in traps one and two.
The reverse forecast could appeal for those looking at other bet options in the race.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
2 pt 20:19 Sunderland – Sunny Tab (T3) @ SP
A little later on, look out for SUNNY TAB, who lines up from T3 in the A8 graded race at 20:19 over the four-bend 450-metre trip at the north-east venue, Sunderland.
The Jill Sutherst-trained June 2024 pup has caught the eye in recent weeks, showing huge early and middle gears in handicap races. Today, on his first competitive run in graded company, Sunny Tab looks well-drawn to lead round and, once on the bunny, his natural pace should see him kick half a dozen clear down the back straight.
Bred in the purple out of Fromposttopillar, Sunny Tab looks the type to keep improving in the coming months and will make into a nice, graded performer once he strengthens and see’s the trip out strong.
Groveshill Flare (T6) is two from seven in the grade and rates as a danger, while lightly-raced Townsend Bruno (T2) is worth noting in the market. He’s moved to the rails from T2 on debut and met trouble, but with a slow starter in T1 this evening he could attract support.
