Wednesday Greyhound Tips: A trio to follow at Doncaster

Our resident greyhounds guru, Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle on X), casts his eye over the day's action on Wednesday. Doncaster is where he feels the value lies as he has picked out three runners to follow.

Today's Greyhound Odds

1 pt 14:52 Doncaster – Crystal Bale (T4) @ SP

Two winners and a 10/1 second yesterday at Suffolk Downs with Essex Crazy beaten a neck at juicy odds. Today, we head to Doncaster with three selections on card packed with plenty of sprint races.

At 14:52 look out for CRYSTAL BALE, who lines up from T4 in the D3 graded race over the two-bend 275-metre trip at the Yorkshire venue. The lightly raced December 2023 daughter of Glengar Bale broke her maiden tag over course and distance last week with an impressive three-length success recorded in 17.41.

Today, Crystal Bale will be looking to repeat that quick-away-made-all success, so it's all eyes on the boxes and run into the first bend, trap well and its race on. Zoos Fortune looks well-drawn in T2 with a vacant box on his inside and rates as the main danger. Easy Weapon (T6) is a youngster moving in the right direction and would be a danger to all with a ping break.

1 pt 16:26 Doncaster – Vinegarhill Kurn (T1) @ SP

The B3 graded race at 16:26 can go to the Susan Watson-trained railer VINEGARHILL KURN who lines up from T1. The November 2023 son of Ballymac Cashout is four from five in the grade and looks well-drawn this afternoon to win again and add to that impressive strike rate.

Capable of clocking around the 28-second mark, when he gets it right at the boxes Vinegarhill Kurn would prove very hard to beat if he traps well and holds his pitch into the corner. Abigails Marina (T2) can show early pace into the corner so it's imperative that Vinegarhill Kurn pops out and holds that rival at lid rise.

Consistent wide seed Dark Eddie (T6) is worth including in forecast bets. Kennelmate to the selection, Dark Eddie, stays on well and is another with a solid record in the grade.

1 pt 17:39 Doncaster – Cushie Arnie (T5) @ SP

Next up at Doncaster is CUSHIE ARNIE in the D1 graded race at 17:39. This is an ultra-competitive top grade sprint race around Doncaster; all are in with live chances. Cushie Arnie appeals on the draw out in T5.

A nine in twenty-six record in the Trap and two from eight record in the grade both read well and, with a smart exit this afternoon, the July 2023 son of Cushie Jet can win again. Trainer Susan Watson is well represented in the race with Flashing Style (T3) rated as the main danger.

The Debbie Calvert-trained railer Favourite Place is also likely to prove popular in the market from T1. The September 2021 daughter of Magical Bale isn’t getting any younger, but she's holding her form well with three wins this calendar year.
