Monday Greyhound Tips: Trio to watch from Doncaster

Our greyhounds guru Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle on X) is back to kick-start the new week, with a trio of selections from Doncaster.

1 pt 14:33 Doncaster – Always Believing (T1) @ SP

All eyes on Doncaster this afternoon with 13 graded races taking place at the Yorkshire venue.

At 14:33 look for well-drawn railer ALWAYS BELIEVING, who lines up from T1 in the B2 graded race over the four-bend 450-metre trip. The James Gaskin-trained May 2023 daughter of Antigua Storm is five from eighteen in this grade and, with a level break, she can hold the rails, hit the front and add to that impressive strike rate.

Late Lola (T3) can show nice pace into the corner, so it's imperative that Always Believing brings her trapping boots and holds that rival early on. Franco Eve (T5) will be staying on well late on and can grab the forecast spot.

1 pt 16:26 Doncaster – Ballymac Nephet (T5) @ SP

The D4 graded sprint at 16:26 over the two-bend 275-metre trip can go to BALLYMAC NEPHET, who lines up from T5. The Shaun Birks-trained performer was in fine form in mid-February with two impressive course and distance wins in 17.66 and 17.53.

Since then, Ballymac Nephet has finished second twice, third and fourth but on each occasion has turned mid-pack. Today, if the May 2020 veteran brings his trapping boots, he can lead round and record another victory and add to the 32 that he has at Doncaster. Grouchos Gail (T1) rates as a huge danger.

The consistent railer is often there or thereabouts at the finishing line and could be worth including in forecast bets. Ryder Robyn (T2) has a one from two record in the grade and would be a danger to all with a smart exit from the boxes.

1 pt 17:21 Doncaster – Ballymac Alexis (T6) @ SP

The third and final selection from Doncaster this afternoon is well-drawn solo wide seed BALLYMAC ALEXIS who runs from T6 in the A2 graded race at 17:21 over the 483-metre trip. Draws win races and Alexis has a cracker to work from here with four railers on her inside.

On the bunny, Alexis is capable of dipping below 30 seconds over this trip, a repeat of that would see her bolt up this afternoon. As ever, the key will be what happens at the boxes, trap well and it's race on.

Stoneparkfortune (T5) is a consistent performer for trainer Ricky Overton and rates as the main danger. Bangon Teddy (T3) will be staying on well and, in a race lacking early pace, could turn in a position to challenge. He’s worth noting in the market and could be one to include in forecast bets if sent off at fancy prices.
