Tuesday Greyhound Tips: Thor to settle the score at Romford

Buckle up as our resident greyhound tipster, Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle on X), he picks out a trio of titanic tips from today's racing at Romford.

1 pt 14:41 Romford – Tea Leaf Thor (T6) @ SP

All eyes on Romford this afternoon with a full twelve race card taking place at the London Road circuit. At 14:41 look out for TEA LEAF THOR who lines up from T6 for trainer Gemma Evans. The solo wide seed looks well-drawn to turn handy and, if that happens, Thor can make his move down the back straight and land a hammer blow to his rivals off the final bend as he swoops to victory.

A four from eleven record in the grade reads well and granted a clear run this afternoon, the June 2023 son of King Sheeran will prove hard to beat. Blaze Bay (T1) is worth noting in the market on Romford debut following a move from Monmore. Another worth noting is the Paul Young-trained pup Underground Jess from T3. The youngster makes her competitive debut this afternoon and major support would hint that a big run is expected.

The A2 graded race at 15:38 over the four-bend 400-metre trip at Romford can go to improving youngster EMMJAY JACKSON from T1. The Paul Young-trained June 2024 son of Bubbly Apache bolted up in A4 company last time out, clocking 23.94 following a 3.84 sectional and is now hit with a double upgrade by the Racing Manager.

Today, it's all about holding the rails into the first bend and turning in a pitch to challenge, do that and it’s race on. Laughill Dave (T4) will attempt to make all and would be a huge danger with a soft lead. Lil Bo Beep (T5) is another more than capable of taking this and would be a runner with a ping break. Romantic Romeo (T6) is three from six in the grade and is worth including in forecast bets from what looks like an ideal draw out in T6.

The third and final selection from Romford this afternoon is the Gemma Evans-trained wide seed GALLANT KING, who runs from T6 in the A3 graded race at 17:31. An A3 and A2 winner in recent weeks, Gallant King is a 24.18 type of performer when he gets it right at the boxes. That's the key here. The wide seed needs to trap well; clear those drawn inside and hit the back straight a couple clear. Once on the bunny, the April 2022 son of Pestana will prove hard to beat. Bubbly Everest rates as the main danger from T5.

Off the track from early January until April 1, the Paul Young-trained performer returned to action with a quick-away-made-all victory in A4 company and will be looking to work his way through the grades in the coming weeks and get back to open class action in the near future. Two Sterling (T1) is another on the comeback trail and would be a huge runner with a smart exit from an inside draw.
