All eyes on Suffolk Downs this evening with races over the two, four, six and eight-bend distances taking place on an ultra-competitive open card. At 18:21 in the Suffolk Downs Super Stayers open race over the eight-bend 716-metre trip, the Jason Ray-trained SAVANA CLOWNS appeals from T5. The October 2022 daughter of Droopys Sydney stays this trip strong and granted a clear run, she can cut through the pack on the second circuit and hit the front late on.

Although over the stamina-zapping 716 distance the key will be the break, granted a clear run early doors Savana Clowns can stalk the pace and make her move from the fifth bend onwards. Golden Palace (T1) is a class act and would be a huge danger if allowed to have a soft lead. Yarmouth raider Borna Parachute (T2) is another who has mixed it in top grade open race company during 2025 but is likely to need this with just two competitive runs on his card in recent months.

Emers Summer has won two of her last three at this venue with winning times recorded at 23.78 and 23.73 following 4.55 and 4.45 sectionals.

A repeat of those runs should see her win again at Suffolk Downs. Laugh Alot rates as the danger from T3. It's imperative that Emer Summer traps well and holds her pitch into the first bend. Golden Ace (T6) looks well-drawn to turn with the pace and could be the one to chase home the selection.

The third and final selection from Suffolk Downs this evening is another Yarmouth raider, with ISTHATMYFELLA catching the eye from T3 in the Suffolk Downs Sprint open race at 19:51 over the two-bend 220-metre trip. The Jane Craske-trained railer is capable of winning this from the front or if turning on the tail of the leaders, the key is avoiding a bump at the first bend. Granted a clear run, Isthatmyfella is a 13.70 type of performer over this course and distance, a repeat of that would put him bang there at the finish.

Essex Gunner is three from five at Suffolk Downs, including a quick-away-made-all success over this trip last time out in a smart 13.69 recorded clock. If the October 2023 son of Coolavanny Hoffa traps well, he should go close from T1. Moaning Hearns (T5) has been lightly raced in recent months but returned to action in winning ways last week, clocking 13.70. He would be a huge runner with a smart exit.
