Two non-league clubs with plenty of history meet in an FA Cup first-round replay when York City entertain Chester on Tuesday.

The first game between the two sides finished goalless, so they go again - this time at the York Community Stadium.

York, who play in the fifth-tier National League, were Football League regulars from the 1960s through to the '90s but have had to settle for non-league football in recent years after being relegated from League Two in 2016.

The current iteration of Chester is actually a reborn Phoenix club after Chester's demise due to financial problems in 2010, but the Blues have a long tradition of league football and made it as high as the third tier in the professional game in the 1990s.

York vs Chester Tips

  • York to win (90 minutes) @ 23/20
  • Under 2.5 total goals (90 minutes) @ 11/10

Match Odds

The hosts are the 23/20 favourites to win in normal time, with Chester, who play their football a division below in the National League North, available at 2/1 - while the draw at 90 minutes is 5/2.

Under 2.5 goals is available at 11/10, while both teams to score is a 4/7 shot.

Team News

Lenell John-Lewis is expected to start up front for the hosts after coming off the bench at the weekend, while several others are pushing for recalls, including Quevin Castro, David Stockdale and Olly Dyson.

Reece Daly is expected to return to the starting line-up for the visitors, while Kieran Coates is another pushing for a recall.

York to win (90 minutes) @ 23/20

The fact the Minstermen are at home and are a division above Tuesday's opponents should be reason enough to back them to progress in this replay, and the 23/20 available on them doing so in the regular 90 or so minutes appeals.

York are in the first tier of the non-league set-up as they are 19th in the National League, whereas Chester are 14th in the National League North, the first regional league below, which feeds in.

The first clash was a relatively tight affair, with both sides managing just two shots on target, but Chester may have missed their best chance of causing a minor upset now they are forced to travel for the replay.

York are three games unbeaten in all competitions and come into the match on the back of a 2-0 league win away at Fylde, while Chester lost 3-2 at Darlington, when they were 3-0 down at half-time before a second-half rally.

Under 2.5 total goals (90 minutes) @ 11/10

Considering the first game was goalless, under 2.5 goals in the replay also looks a good shout.

The first match was a tense affair, lacking clear-cut opportunities for both sides and while York will expect to create more at home as they eye a second-round place and a home tie with Wigan Athletic next, it could be another low-scoring tie.

Under 2.5 goals would have paid out in all of York's last three matches, while Chester have not exactly been free-scoring of late, either. Calum McIntyre's side have only managed 19 goals in 15 league games so far this season, so we're not expecting a goal-fest on Tuesday.
