Wrexham stockport betting tips

There's only a few remaining League 1 fixtures left playable this weekend, after the schedule was decimated by international call ups and by far the most interesting-looking of the matches takes place at the STōK Cae Ras (Saturday, 15:00), as third-placed Wrexham take on a Stockport County side sat in fifth spot.

We've given you our Wrexham vs Stockport Predictions, as well as all the latest odds, stats and team news.

Wrexham vs Stockport Betting Tips

  • Match Result - Draw @ 2/1
  • Correct Score - 0-0 @ 6/1

These two sides have plenty of recent history as they've moved up through the leagues together, after significant investment from respective new owners.

Now they are locked in a scrap for automatic promotion to the hallowed ground of the second tier, somewhere Stockport haven't been since the 2001/02 season and Wrexham haven't graced since twenty years prior to that.

Wrexham are level on points with second-placed Wycombe Wanderers after beating them at Adams Park just a week ago, yet still trail the Chairboys on goal difference. With Wycombe taking an enforced break due to a postponement arising from Huddersfield Town's international call ups, this is a great chance for Phil Parkinson's side to jump into the automatic promotion slots.

As for Dave Challinor's men, they themselves are just six points behind both Wrexham and Wycombe and another massive three points here, following a huge win away at fellow playoff hopefuls Bolton Wanderers, would thrust them squarely into the race for the Championship.

Team news

Parkinson has been boosted by the lack of a midweek game, which has allowed some of his squad to recover and heal ahead of this massive clash. Ryan Barnett should be recovered after missing the Wycombe game and George Dobson, Ollie Rathbone and Seb Revan could all feature here too.

Challinor is without Benoný Breki Andrésson, who has been called up for the Iceland U21's and will be a big blow after scoring three times this month. Elsewhere, Macauley Southam-Hales, Jack Diamond, Tayo Adaramola, Nick Powell, Fraser Horsfall and Ben Hinchliffe are all struggling with injury issues.

With a great home record at the Racecourse, Wrexham are surprisingly nicely-priced at 6/4 to pick up three points, giving them an implied win probability of 40%, while Stockport are the slight 21/10 outsiders, or a 32% chance.

The draw is available at a price of 2/1, but goals could be on the frugal side, with both teams to score at 11/10 and over 2.5 goals at 6/4.

Match Result - Draw @ 2/1

There was only four points separating these two sides last season, as the Hatters finished champions and The Town as runners-up and there doesn't appear to be a great deal between them at present. Wrexham are six points clear but they were beaten earlier in the season at Edgeley Park and County could close that gap significantly with another win here.

Parkinson's side will be desperate for their own three points to regain second spot over Wycombe but I doubt they would be devastated with a point that would achieve the same outcome. Wrexham haven't looked fluid of late and have won just twice at home in 2025 from six attempts. Draws against both Birmingham and Bolton have shown their willingness to shut up shop when the better sides in the division come to town.

Stockport meanwhile have lost their main goal threat in Louie Barry and have lost another potential outlet in Andrésson. While a win here would be transformative for their season, a draw would mean Wrexham aren't out of reach and would keep the chasing clubs behind from the door.

Correct Score - 0-0 @ 6/1

I'm going to double down on my first pick and expect this one to be goalless. Wrexham played out a stalemate with Bolton at the start of the month and they are struggling to find the net of late, having scored just three goals this calendar month, including a highly disputed potential offside goal by Steven Fletcher at Huddersfield.

Similarly Stockport are without some of their attacking threats and have just four goals in their last five matches. I like the odds of 6/1 about a goalless draw and each team picking up a vital point.
