Wrexham huddersfield betting tips

There's a full slate of fixtures in League 1 on Tuesday night and one of the most interesting-looking matches takes place at the STōK Cae Ras, as second-placed Wrexham take on an Huddersfield Town side sat in sixth spot.

Our resident Terrier Adam Roberts is back to preview this one and he's given us his Wrexham vs Huddersfield Predictions, as well as all the latest odds, stats and team news.

Wrexham vs Huddersfield Betting Tips

  • Draw and both teams to score @ 3/1
  • Bojan Radulovic to score @ 13/5

It'll be a sell-out Racecourse ground yet again on Tuesday night, with the expectant Robins fanbase believing their club wil register their sixth straight win in the league at home. This will be their biggest test to date though, against a side that are a big name at this level and who are a step up from anyone they have faced so far.

Wrexham put an end to a disappointing two-game winless away streak at Rotherham on Saturday, thanks to a first-minute strike by Paul Mullin. Meanwhile, Town grabbed back-to-back home wins, dispatching a poor-looking Bristol Rovers side, in a game that was essentially dead and buried after 52 minutes, following goals from Matty Pearson, Callum Marshall and a first of the season from Bojan Radulovic.

Whilst it's Huddersfield Town that have the bigger history and pedigree, there's no doubting that Phil Parkinson's side are going places and are perhaps the most talked about team outside the Premier League, thanks to the backing from Hollywood royalty Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, which has seen The Town go from non-league to contending for automatic promotion to the Championship.

So will it be another step in the relentless march towards the top flight, or can a resurgent Terriers side led by Michael Duff hand Wrexham their first home loss since March?

Team news

Parkinson is without midfielder George Evans and striker Jack Marriott for an extended period of time due to injury, while Max Cleworth and Luke Bolton are both doubts. Mullin should keep his starting berth up front, after his winner on Saturday.

Duff received some more bad injury news this week, with right wing-back Lasse Sorenson unavailable with a hamstring injury that forced him off at the weekend after just seven minutes. Ollie Turton replaced him against Rovers and he should start from the beginning here after impressing, although Brodie Spencer is also available after suspension. Meanwhile, striker Rhys Healey will be back in contention, after missing the Bristol game via illness.

With a perfect record at the Racecourse, Wrexham are surprisingly long at 6/4 to pick up three points, giving them an implied win probability of 40%, while Huddersfield are the slight 9/5 outsiders, or a 35% chance.

The draw is available at a price of 12/5, with both teams to score at 8/13 and over 2.5 goals at 4/5.

Draw and both teams to score @ 3/1

I ummed and ahhed for a long time over this one. If you had asked me two weeks ago how I thought this one might go down, I'd have been backing the Welsh side, 100%. However, Town have since regained their form and put together two straight wins and more importantly, good performances.

Yes, Wrexham are ridiculously strong at home but they do have a couple of key injuries and it remains to be seen if Mullin is fit enough to do back-to-back 90-minute exertions. The Terriers should have the majority of the ball here and will play the better football but Parkinson's side are more dynamic and their direct style is purpose made for the intimidating nature of the Racecourse.

I think Town can see enough of the ball here and are playing with enough confidence to take a point away on Tuesday night and I've no doubt if thats the case that it will be a score-draw, with both sides getting on the score sheet.

Bojan Radulovic to score @ 13/5

Hang on a minute? You've tipped up a man to score, who has netted just once this season and twice in his Huddersfield career since joining from Finnish club HJK? You bet I have...

Radulovic has been hampered with injuries since moving to England and has really flattered to deceive. However, he gave an interview this week where he spoke of being depressed and homesick in Huddersfield and how he is feeling much happier since he has his own home and his family have joined him in West Yorkshire.

All that was missing was a goal and that finally came on Saturday, courtesy of a Mickel Miller assist and the outpouring of emotion from the 24-year-old following the goal was a joy to behold. He saluted the crowd with tears in his eyes, amid an obvious huge sense of relief.

The big Serb's performances have been much better in recent weeks and his link play with West Ham loanee Marshall is starting to bear fruit. With the game on Tuesday likely to feature more long-ball football than Town are used to, this could play right into Bojan's hands and like West Yorkshire buses, I think we might find two coming along right after one another.
