Wolves vs Luton

Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Luton Town to Molineux in the Premier League on Saturday (15:00), looking to respond to their midweek defeat at home to AFC Bournemouth. Luton are desperate for wins now in the final weeks of the season as they still sit in the relegation zone, but only a point behind Nottingham Forest.

The Hatters have been praised for their competitiveness and spirit throughout the campaign, but now is the time for action. They need to put points on the board, to which I believe they can in the West Midlands. Below I have detailed my Wolves vs Luton predictions, which also includes team news and match odds.

Wolves vs Luton Betting Tips

  • Luton to win @ 12/5
  • Carlton Morris anytime goalscorer @ 9/4

Match Odds

Wolves are 9/10 to get back to winning ways, which gives them a 52.6% chance of victory. Luton are 12/5 to pick up their first win in three, giving them an implied probability of 29.4%. The draw can be backed at 5/2 (28.6%).

Both teams to score has landed in 67% (22/33) of Wolves' matches this season, as well as in 79% (27/34) of Luton's. It is 8/15 to deliver this weekend. Over 2.5 goals is on offer at 8/13.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has netted 11 times in the league this campaign. You can back him at 6/5 to score anytime on Saturday. Luton striker Carlton Morris has scored nine times himself and is 9/4 to find the back of the net anytime.

Team News

Pedro Neto and Craig Dawson are missing through injury for the hosts, as boss Gary O'Neil has had his side plagued with physical setbacks throughout the campaign.

Luton have a lengthy injury list of their own as Tom Lockyer, Gabriel Osho, Marvelous Nakamba, Elijah Adebayo, Mads Andersen, Jacob Brown, Daniel Potts, Amari'i Bell and Chiedozie Ogbene are all expected to be absent for this one.

Luton to win @ 12/5

I know it sounds silly to back Luton to win when they have struggled for points of late and are missing key players, but with Everton having won two on the bounce, the Hatters really need to kick themselves into gear if they are to avoid the drop.

The players have been competitive throughout the campaign and now they need to start finding a way to pick up points if they wish to call this league home next season.

Wolves boss O'Neil described the defeat to Bournemouth last time out as the worst performance of the season, and it feels as though injuries, coupled with the team not having much to play for now in the final weeks, provides Luton with an excellent opportunity to get a valuable three points on the road.

Simply put, they need the three points far more than Wolves do and I think that they can land a huge win in the West Midlands, that could set them up nicely for the final run-in.

Luton to win at 12/5

Carlton Morris anytime goalscorer @ 9/4

With this being the time for Luton's players to stand up and be counted, I fancy the man who currently wears the captain's armband, Morris to get on the scoresheet at Molineux.

The Hatters front man has scored eight times this season in the top-flight and after failing to score in his last two outings, I think he's overdue another one here which would take him into double figures.

It hasn't been easy in recent months due to his fellow attackers Adebayo and Ogbene being out with injuries, which has put more pressure on his shoulders, but I'm expecting him to thrive off it this weekend against a depleted Wolves back line.
