Two defeats in a row have sent Arsenal’s season into a downward spiral. Now out of the Champions League at the hands of German giants Bayern Munich, the Premier League is the only thing that Mikel Arteta’s men have to fight for at this stage of the season. After a damaging home defeat to Aston Villa last time out, they simply have to get three points on the board as they travel to Molineux to take on Wolves.

Due to the FA Cup semi-finals, this game kick-offs at the unusual time of 19:30 on Saturday night, with the game live on Sky Sports Main Event. Below we’ve put together a stonking Bet Builder for you to consider, using Betfred’s popular #PickYourPunt option.

Wolves vs Arsenal Bet Builder Tips

  • Both teams to score
  • Matheus Cunha to score
  • Wolves under 5.5 corners
  • Nelson Semedo to be carded

Both teams to score

I’m doing something I rarely do, and going against the statistics for this one. Arsenal have the best defence in the Premier League having conceded just 26 goals in 32 league matches this season, and as a result, only one of their last six league games has ended with both teams finding the net.

However, they drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich in the first leg of that quarter-final, and I think their solid defence has been shaken with these last two results. I think, under the lights at Molineux, they are going to be in for another tough 90 minutes and their season could well go up in flames altogether. The Gunners have been so good going forward, but now they are now without a goal in their last two matches.

Meanwhile, Wolves are sitting at a BTTS success rate of 69%, which is very good. Given the Gunners simply have to put things right, I’m backing an entertaining encounter in the Midlands this Saturday evening.

Matheus Cunha to score

There’s no doubt in my mind that Matheus Cunha is Wolves’ best player, and main attacking threat. His recent injury clearly hampered the team, but now he has returned, all is well at Molineux. He showed just how good he is as he scored twice in the recent 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest, taking his total for the season to 11 in the league.

Despite the injury issues, he’s now Wolves’ top scorer in all competitions, and I’m expecting him to cause Arsenal some problems. I think if anybody is going to find the net for the home side, it is going to be the Brazilian star.

Wolves under 5.5 corners

I’m backing Wolves to be competitive in this game, but I don’t think they will force many corners. Interestingly, looking at the stats, they have not registered more than five corners in any of their last eight Premier League matches.

Against Forest last time out in what was an even game, they got just one! Wolves are 18th in the list of most corners taken in the Premier League this season, only ahead of Forest and Sheffield United. With Arsenal likely to dominate the ball, I’m happy with this selection.

Nelson Semedo to be carded

Good old Nelson. Can always rely on him to pick up a yellow. He’s now got nine this season in the Premier League, and only three combative defensive midfielders can beat that total in Joao Palhinha, Edson Alvarez and Douglas Luiz. Semedo plays practically every minute for Wolves and he is going to be up against a tricky winger in the form of Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard.

I can only see this ending one way, with the Portuguese full-back likely to pick up his tenth booking of the campaign at some point across the 90 minutes.
