West Ham United vs Liverpool Prediction: Hammers form could dent Reds title charge

The late kick-off in the Premier League on Sunday (17:15, Sky Sports Main Event) sees league leaders Liverpool look to extend their lead at the top to nine points when they visit the London Stadium to take on West Ham United. The Reds have been in inspired form this season, losing just one league match this campaign, and Arne Slot’s men are currently on a run of 22 matches without defeat in all competitions.

Lopetegui has a number of first-teamers unavailable for selection through injury, with Lukasz Fabianski, Max Kilman and Carlos Soler joining Tomas Soucek, Guido Rodriguez and Michail Antonio in the treatment room.

Slot, meanwhile, has just three players missing from his squad. Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley are both expected to return from respective knee and hamstring problems in early January, while Dominik Szoboszlai is suspended.

West Ham are on a four-match unbeaten run after their 1-0 win at Southampton last time out and they could be capable of frustrating Liverpool on Sunday.

The Hammers have drawn two of their last four, while two of their last four home matches have also ended all-square - a goalless tie with Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton and a 1-1 draw with Brighton.

Two of Liverpool’s three draws this season have come on the road and they were restricted to a point in this contest last season.

With games coming thick and fast over the Christmas period, it would not be surprising if fatigue steered the visitors away from three points.

Salah’s impressive form this season means his odds to score are not overly favourable, however, Luis Diaz looks like a promising option in the anytime goalscorer market for the Reds.
