Weekend Premier League Predictions: Gibbs-White to step up for Forest again

The weekend is here again, which can only mean that I am back to present my tips for the Premier League fixtures in store. Disappointingly, the last time I did one of these, only two of my four selections landed, down one from the edition before that. Call that my Liverpool/Arsenal slip-up.

I'm still gunning for a clean sweep - can I secure it this week? Below I have detailed my weekend Premier League predictions, to which I hope are much more fruitful than two weeks ago.

Weekend Premier League Tips

  • Over 3.5 goals in Luton Town vs Brentford @ 11/8
  • Kai Havertz to score anytime in Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Arsenal @ 13/8
  • Morgan Gibbs-White to score anytime in Everton vs Nottingham Forest @ 4/1
  • Crystal Palace to beat West Ham United @ 5/4

Over 3.5 goals in Luton Town vs Brentford @ 11/8

One of the biggest fixtures in the Premier League this weekend sees Luton Town, who are currently 18th, host Brentford (15th) at Kenilworth Road. Seven points separate the two sides heading into this one, and despite their current gap, the Bees aren't totally out of danger.

And the Hatters are still in a good position to pull themselves out of danger. They are just one point from safety with five games left to play. Throughout the season they have demonstrated their desire, fight and in particular their unity.

For a team written off by many before a ball was kicked, they're doing very well. With this being a big game for both teams, we fancy a few goals. Luton have been involved in 14 matches with over 3.5 goals in the league this season, and five of them have come on home soil.

The reverse fixture is also on the list as Brentford emerged as 3-1 winners. So it is fair to assume that we could be in for another goalfest this time around.

Over 3.5 goals at 11/8 Kai Havertz to score anytime in Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Arsenal @ 13/8

Mikel Arteta was given a harsh lesson in management last week as his side were beaten by Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The Arsenal boss boldly opted to shake up his midfield and attack that had been bulldozing teams in recent weeks.

Jorginho was dropped, leaving Declan Rice to cover a lot of ground on his own, while Kai Havertz was dropped from the front into the midfield, leaving Gabriel Jesus to lead the line. We're expecting the Spanish coach to go back to how things were, which should see Havertz back up top, where he has been surprisingly excelling this term.

The German international has notched nine goals in the top-flight this season and five of those have come in his last nine outings. He offers the Gunners much more than Jesus up front and he has been key in their positive run before the Villa loss.

We expect him to return to his previous position against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend and we think he will get back on the scoresheet as a result.

Kai Havertz to score anytime at 13/8 Morgan Gibbs-White to score anytime in Everton vs Nottingham Forest @ 4/1

Another gargantuan clash at the bottom of the table takes place at Goodison Park this weekend as Everton take on Nottingham Forest. One point separates the two sides and Forest are just one point above the drop zone. Three points here could be huge in the fight for survival and a defeat could be a nail in the coffin.

Both teams will be looking to their star players to help bail them out of trouble and for Forest, one of their biggest assets is Morgan Gibbs-White. The attacking midfielder has scored five goals this term, while netting seven assists.

He has scored twice in his last three appearances, so he will be heading to Merseyside in great form. The Englishman will also be coming up against a team low on confidence, having shipped six goals at Chelsea last time out.

We fancy the former Wolves man to rub salt in the wound of the Toffees and grab his sixth goal of the campaign.

Morgan Gibbs-White to score anytime at 4/1 Crystal Palace to beat West Ham United @ 5/4

Crystal Palace turned in one of their best performances of the season as they beat Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, thanks to Eberechi Eze's first-half strike. The Eagles will be feeling confident after that victory and will be hoping that they are turning a corner under Oliver Glasner.

They will need to build momentum and generate some consistency, and we fancy their chances to grab a successive victory at home to West Ham United this weekend. The Hammers were beaten 2-0 at home to Fulham last time out and consistency has also been a problem for them throughout the campaign.

Palace have got their star players Eze and Michael Olise back on the pitch together, and they are always a better side when those two are fit and firing. We believe that they can pick up another big win this weekend that should pull them away from the relegation conversation.
