The penultimate weekend in League 2 is here and we already know our three automatic promotion winners, so congratulations to Wrexham and Mansfield Town, but extra credit must go to Stockport County for winning the league title.

But while there have been plenty of celebrations from these three clubs, there is still some football left to be played and we are still to determine who makes the play-offs and who will be relegated. Here are our weekend EFL League 2 tips.

Weekend League 2 Tips

  • Paul Mullin to score anytime in Crewe Alexandra vs Wrexham @ 13/8
  • Paddy Madden to score anytime in Stockport County vs Accrington Stanley @ 23/20
  • Doncaster Rovers to beat Barrow @ 21/20
  • Walsall to beat Bradford City @ 23/20

Paul Mullin to score anytime in Crewe Alexandra vs Wrexham @ 13/8

Wrexham have completed their second promotion in as many years as they have jumped from the National League to League 1. With a few days to celebrate, the players are expected to return to action for two more matches to finish the campaign on a high.

Striker Paul Mullin has been crucial to the Welsh club's rise in recent years and his tally of 23 goals in League 2 this term is only bettered by Notts County's Macaulay Langstaff's haul of 27.

Wrexham head to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday, who currently occupy fifth spot, and are currently four points safe inside the play-offs. The onus will be on them to attack in this one with the visitors' job being completed, but Wrexham and Mullin can certainly throw a spanner in the works.

The two teams played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Wrexham earlier in the season and as you can imagine, Mullin was on the scoresheet as he notched a brace. We think he's worth backing to score against Crewe once again here.

Another forward who has played an important role for one of the promoted teams this term is Stockport County's Paddy Madden. Like Mullin, he has been instrumental in the Hatters' rise from non-league back into the EFL, and has played his part in yet another promotion.

The Irishman has netted 17 times in the league this term, including a first-half hat-trick against Notts County in midweek to help secure Stockport the League 2 crown. As he and his team mates gear up for the trophy presentation at Edgeley Park this weekend against Accrington Stanley, they will want to celebrate in style and that means grabbing a win in front of the home crowd.

Madden is likely to feature here and after his stunning display in midweek, he will be itching to get a goal on this special day and we're backing him to do just that.

Paddy Madden to score anytime at 23/20 Doncaster Rovers to beat Barrow @ 21/20

We could be in line to watch one of the stories of the season if Doncaster Rovers keep winning as they sit just outside the play-offs with three games left to play. Grant McCann's men were 20th in the table as early as the beginning of March but eight wins in a row have catapulted them up the table.

They now sit ninth and are two points off the play-offs. They host Barrow, who are currently sixth, this weekend and this is deemed a huge six-pointer in the race for the top seven. Momentum is clearly with Rovers thanks to that astonishing winning run, while Barrow have failed to win in their last four, losing three of them.

Doncaster are flying right now and you'd find it difficult to bet against them.

Doncaster to win at 21/20 Walsall to beat Bradford City @ 23/20

Another exciting clash this weekend in the race for the play-offs sees Walsall host Bradford City, with both sides still having a shot at finishing inside the play-offs. The Saddlers are a point outside while the Bantams are six. They do have a game in hand, however, and they will need to have a strong finish in the final two weeks if they are to finish in the top seven.

A defeat to Walsall would all but dash their chances, and unfortunately that's what we think is going to happen. The Saddlers are primed to sneak into the play-offs themselves and a win on home soil would put them in a very good position heading into the final weekend.

Both teams have won three of their last four, but we do fancy the home advantage to play a huge part here, and that's why we're leaning towards Walsall picking up the vital three points here.
