Weekend Scottish Football Tips - Saturday, November 23
- Motherwell beat Ross County @ 8/5
- Kilmarnock beat St Johnstone @ 13/10
- Aberdeen beat St Mirren @ 13/10
Overall odds @ 12.75/1
Motherwell beat Ross County @ 8/5
We backed Motherwell to beat St Johnstone last time, and after delivering the goods, we’re more than happy to stick with the Steelmen when they make the trip to Dingwall.
Motherwell start fifth in the Premiership, level on points with fourth-placed Dundee United and just three behind Rangers in third. They’ve won each of their last two, beating Dundee United 2-1 at Tannadice and the Saints 2-1 at Fir Park. Another narrow win is expected here.
Ross County is the home team but start four places beneath their opponents in the pecking order.
The Staggies have two wins, six draws, and five defeats, with ten goals scored and 21 conceded. They are winless in three, taking just two of the last nine points available, and have failed to win five of their previous six at this level. We’re happy to oppose Ross County until they show us something better.
Kilmarnock beat St Johnstone @ 13/10
Moving to Perth, we’re trusting Kilmarnock to leave McDiarmid Park with all three points. Derek McInnes led his team to a stunning 1-0 win over Rangers at Rugby Park recently, and they’ve taken three wins from their last six.
Killie are far from reliable this season but appear to be moving in the right direction and should have enough skill to grind out a narrow win on their travels, but they must show the same commitment they did against the Gers.
St Johnstone currently have only Hearts and Hibs below them in the Premiership. Their stats for the season so far show three wins, one draw, and nine defeats, with 16 goals scored and 27 conceded.
When looking closer at those numbers, we notice the hosts have the worst defence in the league, and that could cost them again on Saturday. Kilmarnock won 2-0 when last visiting this venue, and we hope for more of the same.
Aberdeen beat St Mirren @ 13/10
We wrap things up with our third pick from the treble by adding a familiar face in Aberdeen to our bet. The Dons travel to Paisley sitting joint-top of the Premiership with Celtic, thanks to ten wins and a draw from 11 games. They could hit the front by beating St Mirren, at least until Celtic visit Hearts in Saturday evening’s live game broadcast on Sky Sports.
Aberdeen have won their three games since drawing with Celtic in Glasgow, and it doesn’t pay to oppose them at the minute.
St Mirren are holding their own in the Premiership and occupy a top-six berth after 13 games played. The locals boast stats of four wins, three draws, and six defeats, with 17 goals for and 22 against.
Despite their current position, St Mirren are just three points better than Ross County in ninth and recently lost three games on the bounce. The Saints are a strong team, but Aberdeen’s momentum should carry them to another victory.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
