It has taken almost four months to complete 16 rounds of Championship fixtures but the end of the November international break marks the start of a hectic period with 10 more sets of games to be completed between now and New Year’s Day.

There is the potential for lots of movement over the next few weeks and it will be fascinating to see if early pace-setters Leicester and Ipswich are able to stay clear of the chasing pack.

Southampton are one of the teams looking to give the top two a run for their money and they face a key contest away to relegation-threatened Huddersfield

Weekend Championship Tips - November 24/25, 2023

  • Back Middlesbrough to beat Bristol City @ EVS
  • Back Southampton to beat Huddersfield @ 4/6
  • Back Millwall to beat Coventry @ 6/4
  • Back Hull draw no bet in Swansea vs Hull @ 10/11

Bristol City vs Middlesbrough (Saturday, 15.00)

Middlesbrough have racked up 22 points from their last ten fixtures and they head to Bristol City with every expectation of registering another victory.

Michael Carrick’s side took just one point from their first six games and appeared to be suffering from an extended play-off hangover.

But they have looked a team transformed over recent weeks and signed off for the November international break with a superb 1-0 victory at home to Leicester City.

Boro have been building for 13 months under Carrick and are tough opposition for City, who are in transition after replacing Nigel Pearson with Liam Manning as head coach.

Manning started off with a dreary 0-0 draw away to QPR and he might have to digest a defeat in his first home match at the helm.

Huddersfield vs Southampton (Saturday, 15.00)

Southampton have moved up to fourth place with an eight-match unbeaten run and their positive progress can continue with a victory over fourth-bottom Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Saints were conceding too many goals in the early part of the season, but they have improved and showed plenty of defensive steel to win 1-0 at Millwall on their last road trip.

Russell Martin’s side intend to challenge Leicester and Ipswich Town in the race for automatic promotion and their slick, adventurous football should cause all sorts of problems for the struggling Terriers.

Huddersfield have won just one of nine matches under Darren Moore and their problems could increase this weekend.

Millwall vs Coventry (Saturday, 15.00)

Millwall triumphed 4-0 at Sheffield Wednesday in their first match under rookie manager Joe Edwards and they look decent value to follow up with a home win over fifth-bottom Coventry City.

Edwards has a plan to get the Lions playing more front-foot football, but his short-term aim is to pick up as many wins as possible.

The Lions are only six points outside of the play-offs and have a great chance of defeating Coventry, who are likely to be short of confidence after a six-game winless run.

Swansea vs Hull (Saturday, 15.00)

Playoff-chasing Hull City chalked up three wins in four games before the break and they have every chance of defeating Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

The Tigers needed an injury-time goal from Liam Delap to win 1-0 at home to Huddersfield last time out but they were totally dominant and bossed the shot count 20 to two.

Liam Rosenior’s side have looked much-improved this season and they look the more likely winners against inconsistent Swansea, who have taken just four points from their last five fixtures.
