Villarreal vs Sevilla Prediction: Hosts can continue winning run

Villarreal will be competing in the Uefa Champions League next term after a stunning end to the season, and they will round off their campaign by hosting a Sevilla side that have been through the mill in 2024/25.

Team News
Raul Albiol and Ilias Akhomach are long-term absentees for the Yellow Submarine, while Marcelino may also have to do without Ayoze Perez and Yeremy Pino on the final day. Perez was taken off at half-time in the win over Barcelona have scored the opener, and he will be missed if he is ruled out this one.
The manager may choose to give some of his fringe players more gametime here, while Pape Gueye, Thierno Barry and talented young centre-back Willy Kambwala may all be handed starts.

Sevilla dramatically went down to nine men last weekend and the two men sent off, Loic Bade and Isaac Romero, are now missing through suspension. Former Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez is a doubt alongside Ruben Vargas, who is a Swiss international.
Albert Sambi Lokonga, on loan from Arsenal, should start in midfield while Adria Pedrosa may come into the back four in place of Bade.
Villarreal are 4/9 to win this game on home soil, giving them an implied win probability of 69%. A draw can be backed at 18/5 while Sevilla are 11/2 to come away with all three points. Over 2.5 goals is 1/2, BTTS is 4/6 and Perez remains the favourite to score first at 5/2.
Villarreal to win to nil @ 13/8
Villarreal should win this game relatively comfortably, despite the fact that there is nothing riding on it. The Yellow Submarines have now won their last five games on the bounce, including a stunning 3-2 away win at champions Barcelona last time out.
I think they should be able to get past a Sevilla outfit that have avoided relegation, and have won just one of their last 10 outings. They’ve had a real issue scoring goals this term, having only scored 40 in their 37 games so far. That’s been the reason they have languished near the bottom of the table, and I think it makes sense to back them to fail to score again. Villarreal have won three of their last five games to nil, and I think there’s a decent price on offer for this pattern to continue.

Sevilla - most booking points @ 1/1
Villarreal cannot finish higher or lower than fifth but their rich owners will be delighted their investment has paid off. They should have the better of this home clash, while they are facing a side with a really poor disciplinary record. Their two red cards last time out only further proved the ill-discipline of Garcia Pimienta’s outfit.
Sevilla sit 18th in the Fair Play table, with 88 yellows and a frankly ridiculous eight red cards this term - the most in La Liga. They should pick up more booking points than Villarreal in this final day meeting.
