la liga trophy spain

Villarreal ended a four-match winless run in incredible fashion last time out as they claimed a 5-3 win at Barcelona and they will be looking to back that up by seeing off strugglers Cadiz.

The visitors sit inside La Liga’s bottom three and have managed just two wins in 22 league games, but they are still only one point adrift of safety.

Villarreal vs Cadiz Prediction

  • Villarreal to win and both teams to score - No @ 13/8
  • Alexander Sorloth to score anytime @ 11/8

Team News

Villarreal have a number of injury concerns as Alfonso Pedraza, Ramon Terrats, Dani Parejo, Raul Albiol, Juan Foyth, Yeremy Pino and Denis Suarez are all absent for Sunday’s game with various issues.

New signing Bertrand Traore could feature for the hosts after completing a January move from Aston Villa.

Cadiz could have a couple of new faces involved as well after Juanmi and Aiham Ousou joined from Real Betis and Slavia Prague respectively.

Fede San Emeterio, Luis Hernandez, Javi Hernandez, Darwin Machis and Roger Marti are unavailable due to injury and the visitors are also without suspended duo Fali and Ruben Alcaraz

Match Odds

Villarreal are the clear favourites to win at 8/13, while a draw is 3/1 and Cadiz are rated at 9/2 to earn maximum points for the first time on the road this season.

Both teams to score is priced at 10/11 and over 2.5 goals is available at 4/5.

Villarreal shipped three goals in their incredible win over Barcelona and have now gone nine games without a clean sheet, but they can keep a rare shut-out against Cadiz’s misfiring attack on their way to victory.

The Yellow Submarine should come into this game full of confidence after their victory at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys and their home form has generally been good - with three wins and just one defeat in their last six across all competitions

Cadiz have failed to score in four of their last five games and they have the worst attacking record in La Liga with just 15 goals scored in 22 games, with just six of those goals coming in their 11 away games.

Villarreal will be looking to put some more distance between themselves and the drop zone on Sunday and they can record a win to nil as they bid to pull clear of danger.

Alexander Sorloth to score anytime @ 11/8

Norwegian striker Alexander Sorloth is a man in form for Villarreal and he can make it three goals in three games when Cadiz visit El Madrigal.

Sorloth was Villarreal’s star man in the victory over Barcelona with a goal and two assists, and he was on target in the draw with Mallorca in the previous game.

The 28-year-old now has eight goals in 19 La Liga games and 10 across all competitions. Sorloth scored in the reverse fixture as Villarreal slipped to a 3-1 defeat back in September and he can add to his account on Sunday.
