Fresh from their Supercoppa Italiana final heartache against bitter rivals AC Milan earlier this week, Inter Milan will look to vent their frustrations when they travel to Venezia in Serie A on Sunday (14:00). I Nerazzurri are unbeaten since September in the top flight and have won six on the bounce heading into this clash.

The hosts have won just twice all season but they have managed two draws in as many outings against Como and Juventus heading into Sunday. Read on for my Venezia vs Inter Milan prediction, where you will also find the latest team news and match odds.

Venezia vs Inter Milan Betting Tips

  • Inter Milan to win to nil @ 23/20
  • Marcus Thuram anytime goalscorer @ 6/5

Venezia vs Inter Milan Odds

Venezia are 8/1, which has an implied probability of 11.1%, to pick up a rare victory in the league, but they have won one of their last five home fixtures. Inter Milan have won each of their last six matches away from home in Serie A, so it is no surprise to see them as the 3/10 favourites on Sunday.

With draws in the hosts' last two appearances, backing the stalemate could be tempting at 4/1.

Two of the last three league encounters at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo have seen both teams get on the scoresheet, and BTTS is on offer at 5/6 here. BTTS is no is marketed at the same price, and this selection has struck in four of Inter's last five appearances in the top flight.

In those same games, the visitors have kept a clean sheet which is priced at 1/1.

Team News

Venezia will be worried about the fitness of Inter youth product Gaetano Oristanio, whose 37 completed dribbles makes him the joint-top of the Serie A rankings, alongside AC Milan's electric wide man Rafael Leao.

Oristanio may miss out on meeting his former side because of injury, but loanee goalkeeper Filip Stankovic is set to feature in between the sticks against his parent club, having wrestled the number one spot from Jesse Joronen.

Should Oristanio be ruled out for a crack against his former employers, John Yeboah would be expected partner Joel Pohjanpalo in attack. Michael Svoboda, Alfred Duncan, Issa Doumbia and Domen Crnigoj are the confirmed players in the medical bay.

German defender Yann Bisseck suffered a thigh strain in the Supercoppa final on Monday and has joined Francesco Acerbi on the treatment table, which has added to Inter's recent injury woes.

The return of Benjamin Pavard might just have come at the right time, with the France international potentially coming straight in to fill in for Bisseck in Venice. Inter's top scorer, Marcus Thuram, should return up front having watched the Supercoppa final collapse from the bench.

Thuram's fellow forward Joaquin Correa is still unavailable, though, so he should join his usual partner in crime, Lautaro Martinez in the final third. Key midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is a major doubt after coming off on Monday with an abductor injury after 36 minutes.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan looks to be another midfield option to miss out after it was reported he had an issue in training on Friday.

Inter Milan to win to nil @ 23/20

Inter may be hung up by the manner of their defeat in Riyadh, but I am expecting it to fuel their hunger against Venezia as they look to make it six wins on the bounce in Serie A.

Their season is still very much alive as they are in a strong position to retain their domestic crown. Simone Inzaghi's men are third and four points behind leaders Napoli, but they boast games in hand over Antonio Conte's side, as well as Atalanta in second.

Inter have been in excellent form in recent weeks. The five wins on the spin have been impressive, as have the four clean sheets in four of them. I think the standout, though, is the amount of goals they have scored - a whopping 19.

I Nerazzurri have looked sharp in attack during this run, and they are looking like the attacking force that ran away with the title last season. Venezia know they are going to be in for a tough match against them in this kind of form, and will expect a different entity to the one that narrowly defeated them 1-0 at San Siro back in November.

The visitors' attacking stars are in excellent form right now and they are riding a wave of momentum in Serie A. Monday's Supercoppa defeat was a blip but one I am expecting them to get over very quickly, so I'm backing them to win to nil in this one.

Marcus Thuram anytime goalscorer @ 6/5

Having been given a rest last time out against AC Milan, Thuram should be raring to go on Sunday, especially with the form he is in. The French international is the joint-top scorer in Serie A with 12 goals, alongside Atalanta's Mateo Retegui.

The former Borussia Monchengladbach man heads into the Venezia clash off the back of five goals in as many games in the top flight. He did blank in the latest victory over Cagliari but that doesn't concern me, as he has been playing well consistently throughout the campaign.

He and his teammates will look to make a statement here after Monday's gut-wrenching loss, and I do worry for Venezia's defence, who could be put to the sword. I'm expecting a few goals for Inter this weekend, and I'll be amazed if Thuram doesn't grab one of them.
