South American qualifying continues on Tuesday night as Uruguay host Bolivia, with kick-off at 23:30. Below we have previewed this clash and come up with a couple of betting selections.

Uruguay vs Bolivia Tips:

  • Darwin Nunez to score first @ 11/4
  • Uruguay to win with -2 handicap @ 10/11

Team News

Nahitan Nandez has picked up an injury so will miss this one, while Matias Vecino was left out of the squad entirely. Their incredible 2-0 win over Argentina last time out was an ill-tempered affair, but fortunately no red cards were shown and Marcelo Bielsa’s men avoided suspension.

Bolivia got up and running with a 2-0 win at home to Peru, as Henry Vaca and Ramiro Vaca both found the net. They also picked up no injuries or suspensions, and are fully fit to take on Uruguay.

Match Odds

Uruguay are huge favourites for this match, 1/14 to take all three points. Bolivia are priced at 20/1 while a draw is available at 7/1. BTTS is 9/4, over 2.5 goals is 1/2 and Uruguay to win to nil is 2/5.

Darwin Nunez to score first @ 11/4

The Liverpool striker is on fire for his country. In that exceptional 2-0 win over Argentina, which saw Lionel Messi and co lose their first game of 2023, Nunez scored twice. They were the only two goals Argentina have conceded since Kylian Mbappe scored against them in the World Cup final.

That stat proves how good Uruguay were during that victory, and all of their key chances now fall to the Liverpool forward. Nunez, full of confidence while wearing the sky blue shirt, is a clinical striker for his country, and should enjoy a field day against a poor Bolivian outfit. The 11/4 on him to score first is well worth backing.

Uruguay to win with -2 handicap @ 10/11

Uruguay are near-certainties to win this game, but at 1/14, there is no value in backing them to do so. Instead, we can add a handicap to produce better odds. Having scored twice against a seemingly impenetrable Argentina, confidence will be high amongst the Uruguay attackers.

Bolivia are one of the weakest teams in the group, and tend to struggle on their travels. They conceded five to Brazil and three to Argentina recently, and so another heavy defeat is on the cards here. Uruguay can run riot in front of their home fans, and the 10/11 on them to win by three goals seems fair.
