Union Berlin and Sporting Braga face a big ask if they are to qualify from Group C. They have been grouped with Napoli and Real Madrid and so this encounter is likely to be crucial in determining who finishes third and plays in the Europa League.

These two sides have not been in fantastic form this term. Union Berlin have regressed from the side we saw last season, failing to score in four of their last five matches. They’ve lost all five matches, including the 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid, while the 1-0 loss to Heidenheim last time out was seriously damaging. They don’t look capable of scoring a goal at the moment, and are low on confidence. 

Meanwhile, Braga are at the other end of the scale. Both teams have scored in their last six outings, and they can regularly find the net with ease domestically. They were beaten late by Napoli in gameweek one, but should have enough about them to secure a clean sheet against this Union Berlin team.

Looking at the form book, it is remarkable that Braga are priced at 3/1 to win this game. I simply cannot understand it. The Portuguese side have scored eight goals in their last two matches, which have both been handsome victories. They also pushed Napoli all the way, and look like a decent outfit this term. 

They may be in 5th in the Liga Portugal, but that is a hell of a lot better than Union Berlin, who are 11th in the Bundesliga – and completely out of form. As previously mentioned, they are struggling to find any sort of form. They are poor in front of goal, and Braga have what it takes to tear them apart with their attacking quality. 3/1 is a huge price for them to win away.
