After failing to live up to the label of 'dark horses' at Euro 2020, Turkey will be hoping for more joy at Euro 2024 in Germany this summer. They get their Group F campaign underway against Georgia on Tuesday evening (17:00, BBC One) at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.

This is Georgia's first appearance at the European Championship finals and they will be looking to give a good account of themselves as they face a tough group that also features Portugal and Czech Republic. Below I have outlined my Turkey vs Georgia bet builder tips, that combined, pay out at odds of 8/1.

Turkey vs Georgia Odds

Turkey to win

Unlike their poor showing at Euro 2020, I think Turkey will show improvement at this tournament. They certainly can't perform any worse. Turkey will like the fact that they are playing a nation that has never featured on this stage before, which will give them a psychological advantage heading into Tuesday.

The Crescent-Stars' tails will also be up because they topped their qualifying group, finishing above Croatia, losing just once in the process. After their last Euros appearance there doesn't seem to be much pressure on their shoulders, but they will fancy their chances of progressing to the knockout stage for the first time since 2008, when they reached the semi-finals.

With players like Baris Alper Yilmaz, Hakan Calhanoglu and Arda Guler, I think Turkey will have the quality to come out on top against this inexperienced Georgia side, and get their tournament off to a flying start.

Both teams to score - Yes

However, I do think Georgia will make it difficult for them. After all, they've earned their place at Euro 2024 and had the quality to get here. The hopes of the nation rest on the shoulders of Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and striker Georges Mikautadze.

Kvaratskhelia is an exciting winger who provided 11 goals and six assists for his club in Serie A this season. He is one of the brightest wide players in Europe and he seems to be made to play on this stage.

Mikautadze netted 10 goals for French club Metz as they were relegated from Ligue 1. Both will play an important part for Georgia as they hope that their debut Euros can see them progress to the knockout stage.

If anyone is going to score for Georgia this tournament, then these two are the most likely suspects, and I reckon we will see one of them find the back of the net in this Group F opener.

Hakan Calhanoglu anytime goalscorer

A player I am confident in backing to score in this fixture is Turkey's Calhanoglu. The captain is primed to play a starring role for his country. He has 18 goals in 86 appearances for the Crescent-Stars, and he heads into the Euros off the back of winning Serie A with Inter Milan, contributing 13 goals and three assists from midfield.

It was the most prolific season in front of goal the Turkish star has ever had at club level, and he is ready to carry that momentum with him into performances for his national team.

He can strike a ball from range and score from free-kicks, and I expect he will get a few chances from both of these scenarios on Tuesday. It may not necessarily come in either of these forms, but I am confident that he will get himself on the scoresheet.
