Tottenham hotspur vs crystal palace premier league sunday 11 may 2025

Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace's priority for the rest of the season is no doubt their Europa League and FA Cup finals respectively, but both sides will be hoping for a confidence-boosting win when they meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon (14:15).

Read on for my Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace predictions, as well as the team news and match odds for Sunday’s game.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace Odds

Tottenham may have home advantage but they are on offer at 7/4 to make that count against 6/4 favourites Palace, while the draw is available at 11/4.

Goals are expected with over 2.5 installed at 8/15 and over 3.5 at 11/8, while it is 4/9 that both teams find the back of the net and 7/4 for at least one clean sheet.

Team News

James Maddison suffered a knee problem in Tottenham's Europa League semi-final first-leg win over Bodo/Glimt to see him ruled out for the rest of the season, with Lucas Bergvall and Radu Dragusin also sidelined till next term.

Son Heung-min is still recovering from a foot issue while Brennan Johnson was forced off against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday and neither are likely to be risked unduly before the Europa League final.

Crystal Palace suffered a scare of their own when Adam Wharton picked up an ankle problem in Monday's draw with Nottingham Forest and the race is on to get him fit for Wembley next weekend.

Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure are also sidelined for the Eagles but on-loan Matt Turner is available again after being ineligible to face his parent club Forest.

Draw or Crystal Palace & under 2.5 goals @ 9/4

While Spurs impressed in both legs against Bodo/Glimt, the Europa League is very much the focus of the home side and their form in Europe has not translated to domestic improvements, so it is ambitious to expect some on Sunday with the finishing line in sight.

Tottenham have won one of their last nine PL games - against relegated Southampton - while losing six.

Stretching that further, they have won only four of their last 19, with Ipswich and Manchester United among their victims, and Palace have little to fear.

While the Eagles' league form has also tailed off (winless in five), they have picked up more points on the road than either they or Tottenham have done at home, while there is also the slim chance they can qualify for a European finish through their league position, albeit very unlikely.

Still, having won the reverse fixture 1-0 back in October, there is arguably more for them to play for than their hosts and they certainly have little to fear and can achieve another positive result.

Oliver Glasner's men have drawn their last three league games, two of which went under 2.5 goals against better teams than Spurs - Bournemouth (0-0) and Forest (1-1) and it is a tempting price for something of a repeat, with the cushion of a double chance.

Will Hughes to receive a card @ 16/5

Given that neither side is in the best of form, rather than going for goals, a play in the card markets is well worth considering and Will Hughes looks a standout option at 16/5.

With Wharton not likely to be fit, or indeed risked ahead of the FA Cup final, a space has opened up in midfield and Hughes looks set to get the nod.

No Palace player has picked up more bookings than Hughes (11) in the Premier League and at 16/5 he looks too big to ignore.

The combative midfielder will be trying to stake his claim for a starting spot at Wembley and it is worth noting that he has only previously been on the losing side twice when given a yellow card this season, while he was also cautioned in October's win over Spurs.
