Torino welcome bitter rivals Juventus to Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in Serie A on Saturday (17:00). The hosts have drawn their last two matches in the top flight but have failed to win in each of their last five at home.

Juventus are still unbeaten in the top flight and were winners in their last away trip against Monza. The Old Lady have dominated this fixture in the league for the past decade as well, highlighting the task in hand for Torino. Below you can check out my Torino vs Juventus prediction, featuring the latest team news and match odds.

Torino vs Juventus Betting Tips

  • Juventus and under 2.5 goals @ 9/4
  • Juventus to keep a clean sheet @ 1/1

Torino vs Juventus Odds

Torino are 18/5 to take the bragging rights on Saturday but they have not won this derby in almost 10 years. It was April 2015 in which they last prevailed, which was a 2-1 victory at home.

Juventus have won 14 of the previous 19 league meetings in that time so you will find value in their 5/6 price, which has an implied probability of 54.5%, to collect the three points.

Two of the last four encounters inside this stadium have ended up in draws, so 21/10 for the stalemate could be enticing.

Both teams to score No has struck in each of the last three clashes between these two great rivals and is marketed at 8/13 for Saturday.

Team News

Torino are hopeful that Saul Coco and key midfielder Samuele Ricci can overcome injuries sustained against Parma to feature in one of the biggest games in the calendar. Karol Linetty replaced Ricci last time out, so he would be the most likely candidate to slot into midfield if Ricci isn't declared fit in time.

Perr Schuurs and Duvan Zapata are both out for the long term with issues of their own, with the latter's absence leaving misfiring strikers Che Adams, Yann Karamoh and Antonio Sanabria to compete for places at the top end of the pitch.

Paolo Vanoli has to get that decision right on derby day as his side head into the weekend without a goal in each of their last three league matches on home soil. Adams was on the scoresheet in the recent 2-2 draw at Udinese and led the line against Parma, so it looks like he currently holds the most favour with the Torino boss.

Karamoh operated behind the Scotland international against Parma but played alongside him at Udinese. Nikola Vlasic featured next to Karamoh last weekend, so Vanoli could go with them both again here.

Juventus have a couple of concerns heading into the derby. Both Dusan Vlahovic (muscular) and Francisco Conceicao (thigh) are doubts to be included in the squad, as they have been training individually this week.

If Vlahovic is out of action, Thiago Motta could move Kenan Yildiz from the right to take the centre-forward role, or he could call upon Timothy Weah from the bench. Nicolas Gonzalez could also be another option if he wishes to deploy a false nine.

The Old Lady are already without midfielder Manuel Locatelli as the result of a suspension, while long-term absentees Arkadiusz Milik, Bremer and Juan Cabal are still in the medical bay.

Douglas Luiz and Danilo could be heading for the exit in the current transfer window, but the former may get a start in the engine room next to Khephren Thuram, in light of Locatelli's absence.

Juventus and under 2.5 goals @ 9/4

Even with key players missing, Juve should still have more than enough to triumph on derby day, as they so often have over the past decade. Motta still has a lot of talented players to call upon against Torino, and there will be those eager to step up to impress the boss.

Their unbeaten run in the top flight is admirable and so I cannot see them losing, especially when you factor in the last 19 games in this fixture, in which they have not tasted defeat.

I'm going for the Juventus win because they have won four times on the road already in this campaign, and they beat their hosts 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium back in November.

The 5/6 for them to win was tempting, but I have sought more value by combining it with under 2.5 goals. There have been less than three goals scored in three of Juve's last four away trips in the top flight, while under 2.5 goals has also been a winning selection in each of Torino's last five home games in Serie A.

On top of this, the previous three meetings between the two rivals has seen this threshold met, so it seems good value to me.

Juventus to keep a clean sheet @ 1/1

The Old Lady boast the second joint-best defensive record in Serie A, having conceded just 15 goals in 18 appearances. This means that they are averaging 0.83 goals conceded per match.

Juve have kept 10 clean sheets thus far, including in the reverse fixture against Torino. As well as this, the hosts have failed to score in their last three matches inside the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

The visitors are a tough unit to break down, and this does not help a side who are currently struggling for goals on home turf. I think this selection could be very useful for punters.
