European football returns to our screens on Wednesday as the Champions League quarter-final first legs take place, and you can also catch games from the EFL Championship as promotion and relegation battles continue.

Today's live football on TV will broadcast in the UK across Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

There's more Champions League action to enjoy tonight as Atletico Madrid welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Wanda Metropolitano in the first leg of their quarter-final tie. Diego Simeone's men eliminated last year's runners-up Inter Milan on penalties to get to this stage, while Dortmund cruised past PSV Eindhoven in their last-16 clash. Domestically, the Madrid outfit aren't enjoying a successful campaign - the Spaniards sit in fourth place in La Liga and are a hugely disappointing 17 points behind leaders and rivals Real Madrid. Dortmund have similarly had a disappointing Bundesliga campaign, and their home defeat to Stuttgart at the weekend has left them in fifth place.

Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona also lock horns in European action tonight at the Parc des Princes, as both sides look to gain an advantage heading into next week's return leg. The French heavyweights took a step closer to landing an elusive first Champions League title with a 4-1 aggregate success over Real Sociedad in the previous round, and with PSG on the opposite side of the draw to the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid, they will be quietly confident about their chances of reaching this year's Wembley showpiece. Standing in their way on Wednesday will be Barcelona, who find themselves back at the quarter-final stage for the first time in four years.

There's also plenty of Championship action to enjoy on Wednesday night, as Ipswich Town look to reclaim top spot in England's second tier when they host Watford at Portman Road. They're currently sat in third place, a point behind leaders Leicester, with a game in-hand over second-placed Leeds United, and are looking to respond to Saturday's defeat in the East Anglian derby. Meanwhile, Watford have won just two of their last 14 encounters in the Championship, and don't appear to be in any relegation danger, although it hasn't been mathematically ruled out yet, with Ipswich, Southampton and Middlesbrough still to play.

West Bromwich Albion will also be seeking to keep their promotion hopes alive when they welcome already-relegated Rotherham United to The Hawthorns on Wednesday. The Baggies have stalled in recent weeks, drawing their last three outings, but still have their play-off fate in their own hands, while Rotherham's fate has already been sealed, and they're guaranteed to be in 24th position in the second-tier standings by the end of play on May 4.
