Uruguay held their nerve in their quarter-final clash with Brazil after going down to 10 men in the 74th minute. They ensured the game went to penalties and they showed great composure to defeat Selecao 4-2 in the shoot-out to reach another Copa America final. They are one game away from facing Argentina, with both teams having won a record 15 titles.

They have two defensive issues to be concerned about ahead of their clash with Colombia. Following his red card against Brazil, full-back Nahitan Nandez is unavailable for selection as he serves his suspension. Centre-back Ronald Araujo was forced off the pitch through injury after 33 minutes in that game, and his tournament is definitely over.

La Celeste boss Marcelo Bielsa will have some tough decisions to make ahead of this semi-final, but he will be confident in those who come in for his absent stars, and there will be some added pressure on his attacking stars.

Colombia have been catching the eye themselves. Like Uruguay, they were convincing in the group stage and they cruised past Panama in the quarter-finals with a 5-0 hammering. This has all the makings to be an all-time classic at the Copa America, and it shouldn't disappoint.

Uruguay and Colombia have scored nine and 11 goals respectively so far, so expect the goalkeepers to be very busy in this one.

Also coming our way on Thursday are a few Europa Conference first round qualifier first legs featuring British and Irish sides. Current League of Ireland Premier Division leaders Shelbourne are in action on home soil against Gibraltar's St Joseph's. The hosts are expected to take the advantage in this first leg and they head into this one on an unbeaten run of four games, including three victories.

Their domestic challengers, Derry City, are off to Iceland to take on Stjarnan, and this is expected to be a tough encounter for the Red and White Army, and you'd think they'd be very happy to come away with a draw from this leg ahead of the home tie next week. They have won four of their last five in the league, but they did lose their most recent encounter.

An all-British tie takes place as Welsh outfit Caernarfon Town welcome Northern Irish side Crusaders to Nantporth. The visitors are expected to take the advantage in the first leg given their experience in Europe, but the hosts will be looking to capitalise on their home leg and cause an upset.

Fellow Welsh side Bala Town entertain Estonian club Paide Linnameeskond. The visitors are expected to come away with the win in this first leg due to the fact that they are in the middle of their season and are considered more match fit, but Bala will be out to surprise a few and the home advantage can play a part here.
