Team News
Granit Xhaka, Switzerland's most capped player with 144 appearances, will take part in his fourth successive World Cup this summer.
Premier League fans will note the Sunderland skipper alongside Nottingham Forest striker Dan Ndoye, Leeds United forward Noah Okafor and Burnley attacker Zeki Amdouni in the Red Cross squad.
Boss Yakin has retained 17 players who featured at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, including Real Betis full-back Ricardo Rodriguez, who will also compete at his fourth World Cup in a row.
Rennes winger Mousa Al Tamari is Jordan's star man, while captain Ehsan Haddad is nursing his way back to fitness after nearly a year out. The Nashama are without influential striker Yazan Al Naimat, who suffered a knee injury at last year's Arab Cup and has not recovered in time.
This is the first ever meeting of these nations and the Swiss are strong 1/4 favourites to get the win. Jordan can be backed at odds of 10/1 for a victory in St Gallen, where the draw features at 4/1.
Over 2.5 goals comes in at 8/13, with Switzerland 8/11 to overcome a one-goal handicap.
Switzerland vs Jordan Stats
- Jordan have drawn their last two games
- Switzerland are ranked 19th in the world
Switzerland to win both halves @ 13/10
Switzerland are a strong side at home and their 4-3 loss to Germany in March was just a fourth home loss this decade – all of those coming against sides ranked in the top 11 in FIFA's rankings.
They led that contest 2-1 at the break and have scored 14 goals in their previous four home internationals.
Jordan have conceded six times in their last three games and taking the Swiss, ranked 19th in the world, to win both halves appeals.

Breel Embolo to score first @ 11/4
Forward Breel Embolo could be the man the Swiss look to for goals at the World Cup. He got into double figures for Ligue 1 side Rennes in the season just ended and has found the net 23 times for his country.
He's also proved adept at scoring early, with Embolo finding the net in the first half during each of Switzerland's last five home games. As such he makes for a solid proposition to break the deadlock.
