Switzerland vs Estonia Prediction: Swiss to start final Euros preparations with a win

Switzerland begin their final Euro 2024 preparations with a friendly encounter against Estonia at the Swisspoarena in Lucerne on Tuesday evening (19:15). The Swiss will be looking to have a similar run at the Euros as they did three years ago when they knocked out then-reigning world champions France in the round of 16.
Murat Yakin and his players will know how tough their group is with hosts Germany, Scotland and Hungary, so they will want to head into the tournament with as much momentum as they can gather. Below I have detailed my Switzerland vs Estonia prediction, featuring match odds and team news.
Switzerland vs Estonia Betting Tips
Switzerland are the 1/7 favourites to win this match, giving them an 87.5% chance of victory. Estonia are priced at 18/1, which gives them an implied probability of just 5.3%. The draw can be backed at 13/2 (13.3%).
Both teams to score is on offer at 6/4 and over 2.5 goals is marketed at 1/2.
Team News
Due to his participation in the Champions League final at the weekend with Borussia Dortmund, goalkeeper Gregor Kobel is a doubt to feature, which will present an opportunity for former number one Yann Sommer, whose heroics against France at Euro 2020 will not be forgotten.
Manuel Akanji and Fabian Schar look like guarantees to start in the back three, while Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri should feature higher up the pitch. Breel Embolo could start in attack to build up his confidence after an injury-plagued season with Monaco.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach star has netted 13 times for Switzerland, so he could be an important player this summer.
As for Estonia, 33-year-old veteran Henri Anier looks set to start up top after scoring 22 goals for his country. Fellow experienced player Konstain Vassiljev could be set to earn his 158th cap for the Sinisargid.
Switzerland to win 2-0 @ 9/2
I have had to really look for value in Lucerne because it would appear as though everyone is in agreement in thinking the Swiss will come out on top here. So I have had a go at calling the final score. I like the look of 2-0 to the hosts because it is a convincing enough scoreline and if Yakin can get Embolo on the scoresheet, it will do the forward the world of good.
They will also look to keep a clean sheet because their defensive solidity will be key for them in Germany, especially in the tough group that they are in.
Yakin won't want his players to exhaust themselves as this is only a warm-up after all, but even if his side don't really get out of second gear, they have more than enough individual quality to win here.
Switzerland to win both halves @ 21/20
This also leads to me envisaging the Swiss coming out on top in both halves. In the last three games in which they have scored, they have only managed one goal. You have to go back to October when they last scored more than once, a 3-3 draw with Belarus.
One thing Yakin will want to see from this week of friendlies is a clinical edge from his players because they cannot afford to go into the Euros hoping one-goal games will carry them through.
On paper, the Swiss have a good squad of players and there is quality in attack. This game is as much about confidence as anything else, and the attacking stars will want to grab a goal so they can head to Germany in form.
I'm confident that the hosts will win this game, and I can see them ending their run of managing just one goal. I can see them scoring at least twice and I do see those goals coming in either half.
