Swansea City picked up a point on home soil against rivals Cardiff City on Sunday but now they turn their attention back to the Carabao Cup as they face Wycombe Wanderers at the Swansea.com stadium (19:45, Sky Sports+).

Below you can find my Swansea vs Wycombe prediction featuring team news and betting tips.

Swansea vs Wycombe Betting Tips

  • Over 2.5 goals @ 4/6
  • Swansea to win with -1 handicap @ 6/4

Team News

Luke Williams should give some of his fringe players another chance to impress here, with Zan Vipotnik in line to start up front. Joe Allen and Jay Fulton should also come into the team to offer some experience, with youngster Azeem Abdulai also pushing for a start.

Wycombe may also choose to get minutes into the legs of their squad players, as Cameron Humphreys, Tyreeq Bakinson and Aaron Morley all started on the bench at the weekend. That trio should come into the XI, as Matt Bloomfield also looks to navigate a packed League 1 schedule.

Swansea vs Wycome Odds

Swansea are priced at 8/15 to win this game, with Wycombe available at 9/2. A draw can be backed at 3/1, over 2.5 goals is 4/6 and BTTS is 8/11.

Over 2.5 goals @ 4/6

Swansea only scored once against Cardiff, but they have looked threatening at times this season. They put a disjointed Preston team to the sword as they scored three, while they also bagged three in the first round of the Carabao Cup against Gillingham.

I like Williams as a manager, and I think he enjoys playing against weaker teams, when his side are allowed to dominate possession. I think that is exactly how this game will pan out, but Wycombe are also a threat, having scored twice against both Birmingham and Rotherham already this term. Over 2.5 goals feels like a sensible first pick.

Swansea to win with -1 handicap @ 6/4

I also believe that Swansea will have too much for League 1 Wycombe on this occasion. As I’ve already touched upon, they seem to do well against inferior teams, and we’ve already seen them dismantle both Preston and Gillingham on home soil. I just think Williams will be able to pen Wycombe in, and in front of their own fans, they should win this game relatively comfortably.

The potential changes mean that I won’t push it any further than the -1 handicap here, but I do think that Swansea will win this game by a two-goal margin. This selection, unlike say a correct goalscorer, also means we don’t have to worry about any potential changes.
