Swansea vs Burnley Prediction: Routine victory for the Clarets

Swansea City will look to bounce back from their disappointing 1-0 defeat at Watford on Wednesday when they welcome Burnley to the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday (15:00) in the Championship. They face a tough task against the Clarets, though, who are unbeaten in their last 24 games in the second tier.

Swansea vs Burnley Betting Tips
Odds correct at the time of publishing
Swansea have won two of their previous three fixtures at home in the league and they are 13/5 to come out on top on Saturday.
Two of Burnley's past three away trips in the Championship have ended in a stalemate, and the draw can be backed at 9/4. The Clarets have won five of their last seven outings in the second tier coming into this, and they are valued at 23/20, which has an implied probability of 46.5%, to collect the three points.
The visitors have won 15 of their 37 (41%) league games to nil this campaign, and seven of them have come on the road. You can get 2/1 (33.3%) on them to win without reply on Saturday.
Josh Brownhill has scored 12 goals for the Clarets in the Championship this season and he has three in four appearances coming into this contest. He is 16/5 to score anytime in South Wales.
Team News
Swansea's caretaker boss Alan Sheehan is facing a defensive dilemma this weekend as on-loan Burnley man Hannes Delcroix is unable to feature against his parent club.
Delcroix stepped into the centre of defence in place of Harry Darling in midweek, following the latter picking up a knock against Middlesbrough last weekend. His involvement on Saturday looks doubtful, so Sheehan may not be blessed with too many options at the back.
Cyrus Christie, Kyle Naughton and Sam Parker will be ready to step in if required. Kristian Pedersen (hamstring) and Myles Peart-Harris (back) are confirmed to miss this one.
While the Swans have suffered a defensive blow, Burnley have been handed a defensive boost. CJ Egan-Riley has been given the all-clear to feature on Saturday after the red card he received against West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday was rescinded.
Boss Scott Parker will be able to name his strong back four with Egan-Riley featuring alongside Maxime Esteve, Lucas Pires and Connor Roberts. Joe Worrall will be slightly disappointed at the ban being overturned as he would have been looking forward to a run of games.
Aaron Ramsey is expected to be out until after the international break with a hamstring problem. There is hope that Lyle Foster can have a role to play despite the forward being forced off as a substitute against the Baggies last time out. It is thought that the South African only suffered a dead leg.
Burnley to win @ 23/20
Burnley may not be as slick as league leaders Leeds United when it comes to playing football but they haven't needed to be thanks to their incredible defensive organisation.
The Clarets have kept 26 clean sheets in 37 fixtures this term, which is simply incredible in this division. They will fancy themselves to put another three points on the board at Swansea because the Swans have struggled for consistency all season and the visitors won't be fazed by the hosts' recent wins on home soil.
With respect to Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough, Burnley are a much tougher test for the Welsh outfit and this will be a difficult game for a side who are likely to deploy a makeshift back line.
Burnley have also forgotten what losing feels like, with their last defeat coming on November 3. As we enter the business end of the campaign, the visitors cannot afford to slip up in the race for automatic promotion. I'm confident they will win here.

Burnley clean sheet @ 5/4
There is also value to be had in backing Parker's men to register a 27th clean sheet of the season at 5/4. They have already kept Swansea at bay in 2024/25 thanks to a 1-0 win at Turf Moor on November 10.
Burnley have been solid at the back in recent months as they have posted shutouts in 12 of their previous 14 matches in the Championship. Considering Swansea looked toothless in their last appearance, I think Burnley shouldn't be troubled too much on Saturday.
