Two teams desperate to end losing streaks go head-to-head on Tuesday night (KO, 19:45) in the Championship when Sunderland host league leaders Leicester City.

The Black Cats were firmly in the playoff picture a month ago but a run of four consecutive defeats has seen them tumble down to 10th in the table, nine points behind the top six.

Leicester were also looking comfortable at the Championship summit but three losses in a row for Enzo Maresca’s men has seen the former Premier League champions lose their comfortable advantage over the chasing pack, with the Foxes now leading second-placed Ipswich Town by just three points.

Team News

Sunday’s caretaker manager Mike Dodds must cope without top scorer Jack Clarke, who has been ruled out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury.

Clarke joins Corry Evans, Niall Huggins and Patrick Roberts in missing the visit of the league leaders, while Dennis Cirkin and Bradley Dack are not expected to return until later this month.

Leicester boss Enzo Maresca has a number of absentees to contend with too, as Wilfred Ndidi, Dennis Praet and Ricardo Pereira will be watching from the sidelines.

However, there is some good news for the Foxes manager as Danish centre back Jannik Vestergaard is back in contention after serving his suspension.

Match Odds

The Foxes are heavy favourites at 8/11 to take all three points on their trip to the Stadium of Light, with Sunderland 7/2 to claim a shock home victory.

The draw is available at odds of 11/4, while over 2.5 goals can be backed at 8/11.

Draw and both teams to score @ 18/5

With both teams in wretched form going into this meeting, it is hard to be confident in any side seizing the initiative in the north east.

Sunderland are yet to register a single point since the sacking of Michael Beale in February, with Mike Dodds losing each of his two games in charge.

The Foxes, meanwhile, have suffered defeats to fellow automatic promotion hopefuls Leeds as well as relegation-threatened QPR in recent weeks and are on the cusp of throwing away their advantage at the top of the table.

Three of Leicester’s last four away games in the league has seen both teams find the net while the same can be said for each of Sunderland’s last three at home.

So goals can be expected at the Stadium of Light but the two teams may ultimately have to settle for a share of the spoils.

Draw & BTTS in Sunderland vs Leicester at 18-5

Patson Daka to score anytime @ 6/4

Leicester have had a phenomenal goalscoring season so far this season, netting 71 times in the Championship.

One man that seems to be adept at finding the net, particularly away from the King Power Stadium, is Zambian international Patson Daka, who has registered three goal contributions across his last three away games for Leicester.

With the 25-year-old finding the net seven times in the league this season from just 10 shots on target, expect the Foxes hotshot to increase his tally if provided with the necessary service.
