Stockport County vs Wycombe Wanderers Prediction: Barry and Kone to hit the target

Stockport County take on Wycombe Wanderers at Edgeley Park on Tuesday (19:45. Sky Sports+) in EFL League 1, looking to build on their thumping 4-1 victory over Reading a week ago. It ended a run of four league games without a win for the Hatters, so they will be hoping that they have turned a corner.
They welcome high-flying Wycombe Wanderers, who are second in the table and have won four league matches on the spin, so Matt Bloomfield's side head here full of confidence. Read on for my Stockport County vs Wycombe Wanderers prediction, accompanied by the latest match odds and team news.
Stockport County vs Wycombe Wanderers Betting Tips
Stockport County vs Wycombe Wanderers Odds
Stockport are 6/5 to win this encounter, which gives them a theoretical chance of 45.5%. Wycombe are priced at 2/1 to take the three points, giving them an implied probability of 33.3%. The draw is on offer at 11/5 (31.3%).
Both teams to score is marketed at 8/11 and over 2.5 goals can be backed at 10/11.
Stockport forward Louie Barry is the leading marksman in the division with nine goals, and he is 11/2 to open the scoring on Tuesday evening.
Team News
After being substituted against Lincoln City on October 26, midfielder Nick Powell is yet to return to the first team squad, so he is doubtful to feature against Wycombe.
Following a strong performance against Reading last week, boss Dave Challinor could opt to name a similar starting XI to deal with the threat of the Chairboys. Lewis Bate and Will Collar could feature in a double pivot in the middle of the park, while Lewis Fiorini, Barry and Kyle Wootton should make up the Hatters' attack.
Wycombe are going to be without the services of right-back Jack Grimmer at Edgeley Park after the defender was forced off due to injury against Leyton Orient in their last league encounter. This should present an opportunity for Declan Skura to deputise in his absence.
Bloomfield could opt to deploy Aaron Morley and Tyreeq Bakinson in midfield, while Garath McCleary and Fred Onyedinma could support either Daniel Udoh or Richard Kone up front.
Draw or Wycombe Wanderers @ 8/13
Wycombe have started the season brilliantly, picking up from where they left off last season. Bloomfield had a very slow start in charge of the Chairboys but once he was able to get his message across, the team have gone from strength to strength.
It is a credit to them that they are just three points behind league leaders Birmingham City, and the Chairboys haven't lost a league game since playing the Blues back in August.
Momentum is certainly with them heading into Tuesday with four league wins on the bounce, and it goes up to five when you include their FA Cup triumph over York City at the weekend.
It is hard to see them slipping to a rare defeat here, despite the fact that Stockport have won their last two in all competitions. If anything it has added to the excitement for this match, and one that should have no shortage of goals, not least because Wycombe have struggled to keep clean sheets away from home this season.
I've covered double chance here because I think Stockport will present them with a challenge, and they have had a habit of picking up a lot of draws recently. So I'm giving myself some insurance here if Wycombe cannot extend their winning run.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Bet Builder - Louie Barry and Richard Kone to score anytime @ 15/2
I think there will goals at both ends in this clash because of the attacking quality both teams possess. This has allowed me to get creative with my second selection, and I've opted for a bet builder to select two goalscorers for this match.
The first one is Barry for Stockport as he has had a habit of getting on the scoresheet this season. The Aston Villa loanee has scored four goals in as many fixtures in the league of late, including a brace against the Royals last Tuesday, so he will head into this contest full of confidence.
He wasn't in Stockport's FA Cup squad at the weekend as the Hatters defeated National League side Forest Green Rovers, so he will be well-rested for the visit of the Chairboys.
For Wycombe, I've selected their league top scorer Richard Kone to find the back of the net, because I feel like he is overdue a goal after three games across all competitions without one.
The last time the striker scored for the Chairboys, he netted a hat-trick against Peterborough United. Bloomfield has a tough call to make up top because Udoh has been playing well in recent weeks, but this doesn't deter me from backing Kone to score.
Whether he starts or comes on from the bench, he has an impact on matches, and I think Stockport could become the latest side to experience his goalscoring talents.
