St Mirren vs Partick Prediction: Expect goals in SPL play-off final

St Mirren and Partick Thistle played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Scottish Premiership playoff on Thursday and both will fancy their chances of lining up in the top flight next term by winning Monday's return (8pm BST, live on Sky Sports Main Event).

St Mirren vs Partick Odds

St Mirren are 4/11 to win the tie following Thursday's draw while Thistle are 2/1 to be playing in the Premiership next term.

The Buddies are 4/5 to win in 90 minutes with Partick on offer at 7/2 and the draw at 13/5, while those looking for goals can back over 2.5 at 1/1 with both teams scoring rated as a 10/11 chance.

St Mirren's Mikael Mandron is 9/2 favourite to score the game's first goal while his team-mates Jonah Ayunga, Killian Phillips and Nlundulu are 5/1.

Team News

Liam Donnelly is doubtful for the Buddies after missing the first leg while Conor McMenamin and Dan Nlundulu will hope to play some part having been unused substitutes for the first leg following spells on the sidelines.

Thistle will once again be without Oisin Smyth and Fraser Taylor as the on-loan pair are unable to play against their parent club.

Dan O'Reilly and Ben Stanway will hope to be involved after missing the first meeting through injury, but Ethan Ingram, Dan MacKay and Ricco Diack are unlikely to feature.

Partick Thistle have lost just two of their last 24 Scottish Championship games, so they will not go to St Mirren with a great deal of fear and they are capable of finding the net.

The visitors failed to score in just seven of their 36 games in the regular league season and both teams have notched in five of their last six games.

The Buddies scored just 11 goals in 19 games on their own patch in the top flight, but they should be more positive at home to a team from a lower division, but don't be surprised if, like the first meeting on Thursday, both teams find the net.

Killian Phillips to score anytime @ 9/5

The Buddies finished second from bottom of the Scottish Premiership because they were able to score only 30 league goals this season, but they have looked to remedy that by pushing midfielder Killian Phillips into a more advanced role recently.

He had 11 efforts on goal in the final four games of the regular season, including five in the 2-0 win over Aberdeen in which he scored the second goal.

Phillips was also on hand to score for the Paisley outfit in the first meeting at Firhill and there looks a strong chance he will be able to maintain his good recent form with another important goal in the second leg.
