Livingston vs Aberdeen Prediction: Livi can keep up the fight

Livingston are likely to have to win all of their remaining four Scottish Premiership matches of the season to avoid an immediate return to the second tier, but they may be able to keep their hopes alive against Aberdeen.

The Dons have picked up back-to-back victories over Hibs and Kilmarnock and those successes marked the first in Stephen Robinson's time in the Granite City. Aberdeen aren't quite clear of the relegation playoff spot, but a victory at Almondvale would see the Reds safe. Livingston forwards Connor McLennan and Jeremy Bokila are out injured, but Aidan Denholm is close to a return and could feature for the home side.

Defender Nicky Devlin is back in training, but won't return to face his former club, while Aberdeen are without Tom McIntyre, Kristers Tobers and Nicholas Suman.

Jack Milne is back and Emmanuel Gyamfi has a chance of making the trip to Almondvale.

Livi need a near miracle to avoid a return to the Scottish Championship, but they haven’t stopped fighting and they can be fancied to beat Aberdeen in Almondvale.

Marvin Bartley's men were good 2-0 winners against St Mirren in Paisley last weekend and they have lost only two of their eight Scottish Premiership matches.

That isn't a terrible record for a side at the foot of the top-flight table and. while Livingston's season is most likely to come to a disappointing end, they are not as bad a side as that record suggests.

Aberdeen are on a run of back-to-back victories, but the Dons have won only two of their last ten games and it’s been a miserable campaign for Robinson's men.

The Reds will hope for better under the former St Mirren gaffer next term, but they have lost 11 of their last 12 away games and they could leave Almondvale empty handed on Friday night.

Over 3.5 goals @ 9/4

A punt on over 3.5 goals makes multiple appeal.

January's Pittodrie fixture between these two sides finished in a 6-2 Aberdeen win and Livingston's league position means they will have to go on the front foot in the reverse fixture.

Bartley's side have scored six times in their last three matches and four of their last eight fixtures have gone over 3.5 goals.

If this contest doesn't go Livi's way early and they fall behind, the fight may leave the Lions with relegation on the cards.

That could allow Aberdeen to go through the gears and over 3.5 goals looks a nice price in this spot.
