Falkirk vs Motherwell Prediction: 18/5 pick for fun-filled fare in Falkirk

Two of the great success stories of the Scottish Premiership season collide at Falkirk Stadium on Wednesday night (19:45 GMT) when Falkirk host Motherwell.
The Bairns held Rangers on Sunday to extend their excellent start to life back in the top flight, while Motherwell sit third thanks to some sparkling performances. Check out my Falkirk vs Motherwell predictions below, along with full team news and Betfred’s latest match odds.

Team News
John McGlynn won’t look to make too many changes from the team which held Rangers at Ibrox.
There could be a temptation to bring Alfredo Agyeman into the starting XI after he had the Glasgow giants backpedalling at pace on Sunday, while Scott Arfield is another consideration in the attacking-midfield line.
For the Well, Jens Berthel Askou is likely to ride the Premiership’s top scorer, Tawanda Maswanhise, for a little longer before his expected departure for Zimbabwe’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
That means Apostolos Stamatelopoulos should be a substitute once more, with Liam Hendry starting alongside Maswanhise.
Falkirk vs Motherwell Predicted Lineups
- Falkirk: Bain; Adams, Allan, Henderson, Lissah; Spencer, Tait; Wilson, Miller, Williams; Graham
- Motherwell: Ward; Koutroumbis, McGinn, Welsh, Longelo; Just, Fadinger, Watt, Slattery; Hendry, Maswanhise
There’s no splitting these two in the eyes of the Betfred traders.
Both sides are 13/8 for the victory, with the draw at 23/10. Those win bets are available at 6/4 in the 2-Up Early Payout market.
You can get 4/6 about both teams scoring, with Falkirk’s Brian Graham the 4/1 favourite to break the deadlock.
Falkirk vs Motherwell Stats
- Falkirk won 2-1 at Fir Park earlier this season in the first meeting between the sides since April 2010
- Maswanhise has 12 goals in all competitions this term, scoring once every 137 minutes on average
- The Well have lost just one of seven away league games so far, with that defeat coming at Celtic in early October
Motherwell & Both Teams To Score @ 18/5
This should be a real treat to watch, with Motherwell having caught many an eye with their attacking style this season and Falkirk doing some great things in their first Premiership campaign for 16 years.
The Bairns showed once more at Ibrox that they are scared of nothing and nobody, with McGlynn setting them up superbly. They should arguably have won the game late on thanks in part to the impact of Agyeman off the bench.
But in Motherwell they face a really dynamic outfit who have so much pace and power, and I can see the visitors adding another win in a free-flowing encounter.
It’s 18/5 for Askou to lead his side to a win despite conceding, with an implied probability of 21.7%.

Tawanda Maswanhise anytime goalscorer @ 7/4
It’s hard not to believe in Maswanhise right now as he continues to light up the Premiership.
While he didn’t get on the scoresheet in the 0-0 draw with leaders Hearts on Saturday, he still comes into this encounter boasting three goals from his last three games.
And he’s coming up against a Falkirk side who did look vulnerable on the very rare occasions that Rangers actually ran at them at the weekend, making the Zimbabwean’s threat very real for the Steelmen.
