It’s been a disappointing season for Aberdeen and they next face a trip to Tannadice Park on Wednesday to take on eighth-placed Dundee United, who are one position and three points behind them in the table.

Peter Leven has been in the Aberdeen dugout since Jimmy Thelin left in early January, but the club appear to be closing in on former St Etienne boss Eirik Horneland and his appointment could bring stability to the Scottish outfit. Isaac Pappoe and Vicko Sevelj are unlikely to return for Dundee United until later this month.

Amar Fatah and Panutche Camara remain suspended after their appeals were dismissed.

Hosts Dundee have lost four Scottish Premiership matches on the bounce, failing to score in three of those, and the confidence in the squad appears to have been dented.

The Terrors have lost their last two home matches in the league, going down 1-0 in the Dundee derby and then 3-0 to Hearts.

With Aberdeen having shown more in recent outings, this looks like a prime opportunity for the visitors to come away with all three points.

Topi Keskinen has struggled to make a goalscoring impact for Aberdeen this season, but it has been difficult for a young player to excel in a struggling side.

However, the 22-year-old did notch twice in the 6-2 rout of Livingston two games ago and he will be eager to add to his tally on Wednesday.

There could still be more improvement to come from Keskinen and, with confidence restored, he could get on the scoresheet at Tannadice.
